KOEI Tecmo has announced that a PC demo for FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will come out on March 5th. This demo will let you try the game before it comes out. Moreover, the publisher shared the game’s official PC system requirements. So, let’s dive in.
FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE is a full remake of the second game in the famous horror series. This Japanese horror classic, loved by fans all over the world, tells the story of twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura. While visiting a stream from their childhood, Mio remembers the past, but Mayu is pulled away by a strange red butterfly. Following it, she ends up in a mysterious village that doesn’t seem to exist.
In this dark village where the night never ends, the twin sisters are hunted by angry spirits connected to a strange ritual. After they get separated, Mio must search for Mayu and find a way to escape. Her only weapon is the Camera Obscura, a special camera that can trap and defeat ghosts. However, Mio doesn’t realize that she is repeating events from the past. As she goes deeper into the village, she slowly uncovers the scary truth behind the “forbidden ritual that must never be seen.”
FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE will fully upgrade the original game with better graphics, improved sound, and smoother gameplay. The controls have also been updated to feel more modern and easier to use. The Camera Obscura, the series’ most important tool, will now give players an even more exciting experience – both when exploring the village and when battling ghosts.
To run it, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3400 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1050 Ti or an AMD Radeon R9 380X. The game will also require 30GB of free disk space. With this PC system, you will be able to run it at 720p with 30FPS using the “Best Performance” graphics preset.
KOEI Tecmo recommends using an Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700XT. With this PC setup, you will be able to run it at 1080p with 30FPS using the “Standard” graphics preset.
The full version of FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE will be released on March 12th.
