Star Wars fans, here is something really special for you today. Republic Commando is considered by many as one of the best Star Wars games. And today, we present you with a new cool RTX Remix Mod that adds Path Tracing to it.
Made by Chaos007, this is an early demo of an RTX Remix Mod that adds Path Tracing to this classic Star Wars game. The demo includes the prologue and the first level of the first mission. It features ray-traced lighting, better textures, improved 3D models, and a more cinematic look and feel.
The demo features overhauled clone and droid designs, new weapon models, PBR materials, updated sky lighting, and enhanced visual effects like emissive particles and reflective surfaces.
To showcase these visual improvements, the modder shared some screenshots. These images compare the original version of the game with the new modded version. As you can see, the RTX Remix version looks miles better. This proves how much Path Tracing can improve the look of older games.
You can download the demo using this link. To install it, just copy all the folders (Animations, Movies, StaticMeshes, System, Textures) into the Star Wars Republic Commando/GameData folder. After that, launch the game using the CT.exe file. Then, go to the settings menu, turn off the Helmet, and turn on Tactical View. To open the RTX Remix menu, press Alt + X. In that menu, you can also change the DLSS settings.
Keep in mind that this is just a demo. Since it only covers two levels, it will leave most of you wanting more. And sadly, there is no ETA on when the next version will come out. This is a big bummer as this RTX Remix Mod looks neat. I just hope that the modder will keep working on it, as there is a lot of potential here. This could be one of the best RTX Remix Mods we’ll get.
In 2024, we shared a lot of RTX Remix Mods for various games. In January 2023, we shared several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Manhunt, and Garfield Kart RTX Remix. Then, in February 2024, we shared videos for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Unreal, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and Midnight Club 2. In March 2024, we also shared the first screenshots from the RTX Remix Mod for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Finally, you can check out some early RTX Remix videos and screenshots for Fallout: New Vegas, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, COD 2, and Half-Life.
Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders released demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. Let’s also not forget the RTX Remix for COD: WoW. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for NFS: Underground, Underground 2, Painkiller, and Left 4 Dead 2. Oh, and don’t forget to give a go at this RTX Remix for Unreal Tournament 2004. In September 2024, we also shared a new version of the RTX Remix Mod for Max Payne. Finally, you can download Path Tracing Mods for Doom, Doom 2, Quake, and Serious Sam.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Fixed.
raytracing makes everything look clean and minimalistic and reflective, i prefer the original look.
dont understand the love for this, it was a 4 hour campaign with terrible multiplayer. i was massively disappointed by it.
