The Witcher 4 feature-3

First gameplay & cinematic in-engine trailers for The Witcher 4

CD Project RED has released a new cinematic in-engine trailer for The Witcher 4, showcasing its glorious graphics. Not only that, but the team shared the first gameplay trailer for it. Yep, you read that right. This is your first proper look at The Witcher 4. So, don’t skip on these trailers.

The gameplay footage shown in the video was captured on a PS5 with Ray Tracing, running at 60FPS. The Witcher 4 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and it’s easily one of its best showcases.

I’ll be honest here. This is the best PS5 game I’ve seen. The fact that it also runs with 60FPS on a PS5 is an incredible achievement. What’s also crazy is that there isn’t a lot of aliasing. I don’t know how CDPR has managed to achieve visuals THIS good on PS5.

From what I could see in the gameplay trailer, there aren’t any major stutters. Okay okay, there are a couple during the flythrough segment. I also spotted one in the town. Still, the game appears really smooth for the most part. This should also please a lot of players, as the PC version won’t have any traversal stutters. We shouldn’t also expect any shader compilation stutters.

The Witcher 4 will support Nanite for foliage. It will also support Lumen. The latest version of Unreal Engine 5 can run Ray Tracing and Lumen more efficiently. This enabled CDPR to run the game with 60FPS on consoles. And, just look at the trailers. It looks amazing.

CD Projekt RED claimed that the game won’t come out in 2026. Instead, we’re looking at a 2027 release (at best). So, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon.

Before closing, I should note that CDPR has listed this gameplay footage as a technical demo. So, the end product may look worse on PS5. I’m just saying this because what I saw looks too good for a PS5 game. And, perhaps that was the reason why the team has labeled it as a tech demo. Even though this looks like proper gameplay footage.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. Stop looking at the mirror and learn to give praise when praise should be given. Amazing presentation and performance, I hope that the devs don't have to downgrade it to fit into slower machines.

        1. Even though this is just a tech demo, I find the concept of a reactive world quite impressive. The idea that bumping into NPCs can cause them to drop whatever they are carrying, leading to a chain reaction among other NPCs—like a random kid helping to pick up the spilled items or trying to steal them, or animals rushing over to eat the spills—is next level stuff, whether you agree with it or not. This is something I thought that was going to be made possible in Watch Dogs but we all know what happened in the end.

Even the exchanges that happen with the shopkeeper, his assistant and customer is a pretty cool novelty. Especially if it has an actual impact on the world itself. These are the things I expected to see in games since the days of Fable 1, but no one ever bothers to create these kinds of lifelike worlds. However, I understand that it's a complex thing to achieve.

The final game may not reach this level of fidelity but it doesn't stop me from pointing out the things I found to be impressive here. Obviously knowing the nature of this company and the industry as a whole, I don't expect them to deliver on their promises at all. But I like to be proven wrong, especially in these circumstances.

          1. All those things could may as well be scripted to hell like in every vertical slice ever made…i'll believe it when i see it on a full scale open world game.
There's a bigger chance with GTA VI pulling that off (there's signs of that kind of reaction in RDR2 already) than the r3tards at CDPR that need Unreal to deliver a game.

          2. "I find the concept of a reactive world quite impressive"

same but how many rpgs have you played lately that the world is less reactive than rpgs they made 2 decades ago?

      1. You remember what they said about witcher3 downgrades? They said we never downgraded witcher 3 because those earlier versions never existed.
Enjoy being cucked by cdpr again.

  1. iirc from that tim sweeney interview a few weeks ago, he said that part of the issue with UE5 is that there are many forks of it that work very differently from each other leading to issue on one fork that dont show up in some or are fixed in others but the remedies arent immediately portable. CDPR said they were going to have a special build of UE5 so it very much could be the case here that they have an objectively better or specialized version that a large portion of the industry doesnt have access to. Tim said he saw that as the next biggest hurdle for UE to overcome. The game looks good and thankfully there's plenty else to play until then because whew 2027. I personally think the next generation or consoles will be marked with more use of ML/AI and they'll play a significant roll in rendering or "generating" what we'll be seeing. This will look really great on one of those 4k oleds when the time comes.

    1. After what happened with The Witcher 3 and CP2077 (both of them were downgraded), I’ll believe it when I see it in front of me.

      1. that’s totally fair. I wasn’t as invested when it happened with Witcher but I do remember seeing it for CP2077 but I can’t say it bothered me a ton because I still enjoyed the game so much.

      2. not sure if you saw the update but apparently this was a tech demo on 5.6 in the world of witcher 4 captured on ps5 rather than true witcher 4 gameplay

      3. They've already clarified, that the Demo Was Not The Witcher 4 Final Gameplay, But just a vertical slide of what might be possible

    2. "part of the issue with UE5 is that there are many forks of it that work very differently from each other"
he should have shown the good examples of ue5, there arent any. so he cant shut up.

      1. Fortnite was the main one he brought up as a game that has its own UE5 Build that isnt as problematic or suffer a lot of the same issues as the others. I think in the actual talk he mentioned either Mobile or some switch games that didnt suffer some of the issues people routinely talk about.

        1. Fortnite itself was riddled with problems even after their shader comiplation patch most of them werent fixed. he is full of it but lie is free in this industry.

  3. No mention as to what they're doing/have done to address traversal stutter and performance issues with open world.

    1. nothing, nvidia will have to get cards with more vram and you have to get faster pcie slots and nvmes. After all unreal engine 5 is made with consoles in mind that have apu designs and fast data transfer and large vram pool.

  4. Looks good. But I most likely won't play this. Witcher series ended with witcher 3 for me. No point in playing witcher series without Geralt. It would've been fun if we could've played as other real witchers in past (predecessors of Geralt)

    1. They could have given us the Witchers who were the founders of each Witcher School. There's so much lore in it.

  5. meh smoke & mirrors imagine not letting us choose who we want to play as in 2025 i wasn't a big fan of the ciri segment in the witcher 3 so this game is gonna be a hard pass for me

    1. I'm never EVER going to play as a guy if I'm given the option because I prefer looking at females. Are you gay?

      1. if you play games just to look at ''females'' then maybe you got issues and need to get out of your basement

  6. I'm impressed with what they've achieved technologically. Though the magic & soul is still missing. Its all just techy-techy now. Will see more how it plays. Either way, its UE5 I won't be buying.

  7. Remember when cd project red showed witcher 2 and said that this is not a linear scripted scene but an entire city and it was just a linear scripted scene?

Remember when they said that witcher 3 is fully open world but it was just a bunch of large maps connected with loading screens?

Remember what they promised with cybrrpunk 2077 and all we got was gta v with robotic arms and looter shooter mechanics?

    Dont be a fool again.

    1. They've already clarified, that the Demo Was Not The Witcher 4 Final Gameplay, But just a vertical slide of what might be possible.

  8. Is that (at 4:29) kind of homage to the AssassIn Greed?

PS. All these years later they still haven't figured out how to make proper mountains.

  9. It's obviously all pre-rendered, you're not fooling anyone you bald c*nt and to top it off, nothing about this is impressive either.

  10. Thing feels shallow, yo!
Another unoptmized boring cashgrab, I guarantee it!
At least she looks like she, which is something coming from the west these days.

  11. Ciri has man-jaw
Ciri's VA was changed to sound more like a man
And more than anything, Ciri is boring af compared to Geralt

The game is pretty, but that's all it is. Assuming it doesn't get a downgrade…which it most likely will.

  12. Ciri being a Witcher is total BS. I would love to play Ciri in her own game as Ciri. Not this cut down version of Ciri just to replace Geralt & have a female lead. That's the thing about the gaming industry, they are so damn lazy and lack creativity. Ciri as a Witcher makes ZERO SENSE. We are basically playing a nerfed version of Ciri. My God CDPR has lost their way. Cyberpunk was the nail in the coffin I guess. Well, thanks for the Witcher 3, I will always have that masterpiece to remember you by. But this? Not like this. Not like this.

  13. Does anyone realise Ciri's voice is played by Yennefer's voice actress? Not suitable after having played W3 for 600 hours.

  14. Reminder that the narrative lead on Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk was pushed out of the company by false accusations from new hires that he was cleared of in a private investigation. The new guy in charge of lore on this game shilled for the failed Witcher live tv shows, defended them changing the story and attacked any criticism of them.

Another reminder for when CDPR and media claim Ciri is LBGT. Ciri was sexually assaulted in the books by a woman while surrounded by murderers. She had a mental breakdown over it and cried. The last game gave the option of turning that assault into positive LBGT fan fiction (this was the beginning of the end for this game series) and this game will do far more. In the books Ciri ended up with a man named Galahad. Ciri could not be a Witcher due to being a woman (and she was already more powerful and would have no reason to risk her life in the trial) and being literally the most recognizable person the planet who would have had people flock to her, try to use her, no matter what profession she chose. She had the power to leave worlds and that is exactly what she did. Left all of it behind behind to start a new life with a MAN and not groomer that media has lied to you about.

This company now gets money from the government, is public and compromised by companies like Blackrock, which means that their narrative is controlled by the banks and their cousins who run things like Blackrock like Larry Fink who told you his goal was social engineering and forcing acceptance of certain things in a video. You control by breaking united fronts down. A family is a united front and they have worked to destroy it. A rabbi owns pornhub btw.

    1. the guy they hired is a woke soyboy who used to work for the gamer or some other video gaming site i dont remember if it was the game informer and he is friends with alyssa marcante. Its gonna be woke.

  15. Switched to ue5 because of all the fake amd friendly tricks. Looks like they are targeting the lowest common denominator rather than pushing the latest tech. Consoles would crumble if it was on the red engine so get this sh*te.

will be gimped by console just like the Witcher 3 and the butchered render path.

disappointing stuff as it looks like cdpr sold out and are no longer pc first.

  16. Whats the Cucking CDPR includes, Ciri is Ghey, jeets/nogs in medieval setting, every EPiC warrior/tribal boss is a Stronk wahmen, Troon sidequest or All the above?
