IGN has shared a video, showcasing the full CES 2025 demo of the upcoming third-person action game, Black State. Black State is a game that immediately caught my attention. And, even in its current alpha state, it looks amazing.
Black State is a third-person action adventure game that appears to be heavily inspired by Meta Gear Solid and The Matrix. For an indie title, it pushes some truly incredible graphics. I mean, look at the gameplay video. It looks amazing.
One of the big features of the game will be its portal doors. This will make the gameplay exciting and always changing. Or at least that’s what the devs claim. Every time you open a door, you can find yourself in a new adventure, which makes the game thrilling and a bit dangerous. You can also go back through the same door, giving you control over where you explore.
Black State will be among the first games to support NVIDIA DLSS 4 and Reflex 2. And although it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, it will support ray-traced reflections on PC.
The folks at Digital Foundry have also shared some new tech details about it. According to DF, the game won’t be using Lumen or Nanite. Instead, it will have custom solutions. Not only that but the demo ran ridiculously fast. At Native 4K, the NVIDIA RTX 5090 was able to run it with 100FPS. Then, with DLSS 4, this upcoming GPU was able to come close to 400FPS. Oh, and it appears that the game won’t suffer from any stuttering issues. So yeah, you can have an optimized UE5 game on PC.
There is currently no ETA for when the game will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

Running at 100 fps on a 5090 (without gimmicky 4xFG, who has a 400 Hz 4K monitor to even display this?) is hardly reassuring if this being an "optimised" game. That strikes me, on the contrary, as being a very demanding game.
Agree, DLSS FGx4 may give the impression that the game is highly optimised, but 100 fps in native 4K on the RTX5090 is not really impressive. The game use RT, but I saw RT games (RE3 remake) that run at nearly 200fps at native 4K with RT on RTX4090.
Optimisation optimsation, thats the key …
Many were against this game and some were against the studio. Like I said before, this $hit is better than those Kojima Potholes. The graphics and optimization especially talk for themselves. The devs know their stuffs and despite using UE5, I can see incredible stuffs happening under the hood. Mega job.
trash game
Garbage 💩
gameplay looks meh, boss mechanic is meh, but yeay reflections and RT and diffused lighting.
RTX: the red herring of industry
Bla bla everything is meh/ sh*t / trash yada yada, you Miserable MotherF*krS!
Oh and why Not spice it up, and call John a UE5 fanboy, while your at it!
Pathetic f*krS!
Normally id agree, but this game does look pretty crappy from whats been shows so far.
Well aslong it’s not any Woke Abomination im happy. Crazy we Have to be Happy, if/when a game is not filled, with that filth 🤣
Good to have official confirmation that Reflex 2 and it's weird warp and generative fill will work in third person games with offset camera perspective. At first I thought it would be exclusive to first person shooters since the view is symmetrical.
first decent trailer ive seen of this game
Bro with new FG tech and DLSS 4, do you think the 4090 is still a good launch purchase? IMO i believe it is. The new tech is cool, I don't know if I should build a new system or replace a 4080 super in a different build with a 1999 + part. I feel like build a new PC for 3000 instead of buying 1 part, I also feel like I don't really need a 5090 or 5090 build. FOMO.
