KRAFTON has acquired Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi RUSH IP

KRAFTON announced today the acquisition of Tango Gameworks, which Microsoft shut down in May 2024. Moreover, KRAFTON has acquired the Hi-Fi RUSH IP.

As part of this strategic agreement, KRAFTON intends to collaborate with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks, allowing the talented team to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore future projects.

KRAFTON claims that it intends to support the Tango Gameworks team to continue its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences for fans.

The company also noted that there will be no impact on the existing game catalog of The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi RUSH game, and they will remain available everywhere they are available today.

Do note that while KRAFTON now owns the Hi-Fi RUSH IP, it does NOT own The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo. These IPs remain in the hands of Bethesda and Microsoft.

It will be interesting to see how many of the former Tango Gameworks devs will return to the studio. Because, right now, the people behind what most gamers loved about that studio are not there. Still, this is at least good news.

Stay tuned for more!

      1. microsoft bragged how the game exceeded their expectations but then they shut down the studio and got rid of the ip.

    1. Did you play Hi-Fi Rush? It's actually a pretty fun and unique game. It came out of nowhere and was immediately in Game of the Year talks at the beginning of 2023. It has a feeling of being a modern "Dreamcast" game. Honestly, I'd suggest trying it out, if you don't like it, that's fine, but I have a feeling if you just look at it with an open mind, you'd find yourself enjoying it immensely. It's a pretty fun concept, with great 3D platforming, and music.

  1. "oes NOT own The Evil Within or Ghostwire: Tokyo. These IPs remain in the hands of Bethesda and Microsoft."

    who cares then.

  2. On one hand we got the Studio and IP back, on ther other KRAFTON are the worst Publisher they could have fallen under.

      1. Don't know, he probably didn't read or understand the whole article.

Since The Evil Within IP is not going anywhere, it still belongs to Bethesda.

          1. Is clear you have an agenda here, on top of mental issues.

Good looking female is personal preference, so arguing further would be a trap and waste of my time /blocked

  3. I played Hi-Fi rush. It was a really bad game.

But because it's an Xbox exclusive, every Xbox fan and Xbox site, hyped it to high heaven.

Same thing happened with Starfield, tons of console clowns hyped it, but it was awful.

Xbox is dead outside of the US, and is increasingly becoming irrelevant in the US too. So Xbox fans and sites became desperate and biased when it came to exclusives. Starfield and Hi-Fi rush were supposed to save Xbox, but it didn't happen.
