Tomb Raider I-III Remastered feature

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor were big commercial successes for Embracer

Embracer Group has shared details about the sales performance of some of its latest games. According to the company, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor sold well on all platforms, and they exceeded Embracer’s expectations.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered was a great remastered collection of the classic TR games. The remasters performed well on launch day, and the collection has Very Positive Reviews on Steam. Embracer claimed that the collection performed above management expectations.

Similarly, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has Very Positive Reviews on Steam and it exceeded Embracer’s expectations. For those unaware, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a single player survivor-like auto-shooter.

On the other hand, the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection had major issues when it launched. Even to this day, PC gamers are not happy with its state. The collection has Mostly Negative Reviews overall on Steam (and Overwhelming Negative Recent Reviews). Despite that, though, Embracer stated that it performed in line with management expectations.

Similarly, Lightyear Frontier performed within Embracer’s expectations. Lightyear Frontier is a peaceful open-world farming adventure that is available in Early Access. The game also currently has Very Positive Reviews on Steam.

The games that underperformed for Embracer were Alone in the Dark Remake and Outcast: A New Beginning. While both of these games have positive reviews on Steam, they failed to meet Embracer’s expectations. In short, they were commercial flops. That’s kind of a bummer as there was a lot of potential for the new Outcast game. Despite that, though, it launched with both technical and gameplay issues.

My guess is that we won’t see another Alone in the Dark or Outcast game in the foreseeable future. As both of these games flopped, Embracer will most likely put them on ice.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Both Outcast 2 and Alone oin the Dark lacked any kind of marketing unlike Tomb Raider and Deep Rock Galactic so it’s not surprising in the least.

  2. any time a company comes forth with the public announcement that their new product’s performance is “exceeding expectations” but then DON’T provide any actual numbers to back that up … that’s never a great sign.

if a major release were really successful, they’d post the numbers. they love that kind of announcement. and it’s weird, because I know DRG:Survive sold over a million … so as an announcement it’s a weird one to me.

both are really good games, though. Tomb Raider especially — it’s how remasters should be. the ability to swap in and out of new / old graphics is such a masterful touch. I bet it wasn’t easy to implement, either.

  3. Embracer shot themselves in the foot by buying so many companies in bulk. they closed sh*t tons of companies, which is really unfortunate. if they would’ve just build it up to see what is profitable they might’ve had a chance in ‘successful gaming empire.

  4. Now they need to grab every soycuck , tr00n and harpy that comprises the maggot-infested corpse that is modern Crystal Dynamics and catapult them into the middle of the Pacific before they taint Aspyr’s success with their upcoming pozzed trash moviegame.

    1. “Formerly, this team was consisting of people who were portrayed as they were so we can learn from our mistakes”

Now, please enjoy the new Tomb Raider without the woke garbage.

  5. They have to do something about Outcast horrible performance and FAST.
I’d like to play this game but it performs awful on both CPU & GPU.
