Ghost of Tsushima new feature

Ghost of Tsushima PC has just been delisted in over 100 countries

Ghost of Tsushima has been available for pre-order for a while now, and it will finally come out on PC on May 16th. However, it appears that a lot of PC gamers won’t be able to play it. In a shocking move, Sony has delisted the game in over 100 countries, just days before its official release.

For those unaware, Ghost of Tsushima will be using a PSN account for its multiplayer. However, its single-player won’t require a PSN account. So, everyone assumed that the game’s SP would be available globally. However, instead of restricting its online functionalities to countries without PSN support, Sony decided to delist the game.

The same thing happened with Helldivers 2. Even though you don’t need a PSN account to play it now, it got taken off the digital shelves in countries that don’t officially support the PlayStation Network. Man, what a cluster-f.

You can find here all the countries in which the game is no longer available. This is coming straight from Steam’s database. And yes, yesterday, the game was available for pre-order in all those regions.

GoT restricted countries

So, right now, you can’t buy Ghost of Tsushima in countries like Egypt, Vietnam, Tunisia or Monaco. From what I can see, the game is also not available… in Japan? What the hell? Why isn’t the game available in Japan (Update. So apparently the inclusion of Japan was a mistake as the SteamDB page was updated)?

It’s ironic that folks in countries where the game isn’t currently available might turn to piracy just to play it. It’s a messed-up situation. In the end, pirating might be the only choice they have. Not only that, but a pirated copy will work everywhere in the world. It’s crazy, but that’s just how things are.

Ghost of Tsushima is a game I’ve been looking forward to. And, you can bet your asses I would be extremely pissed if I lived in the delisted countries. But hey, I guess Sony “learned” what PC gamers wanted, right? Man, talk about killing your own games so that you can force your stupid online service on PC gamers.

Sony and Sucker Punch haven’t said anything official about this yet. If they do, I’ll update the article. Also, we haven’t got a review code, so don’t expect a PC Performance Analysis on day one. Still, I’ll be sure to share my first thoughts on how it runs.

Stay tuned for more!

    1. Nope, you can’t buy the game in those countries right now. Period. It has nothing to do with an outdated server listing.

  1. Yeah this list doesn’t look right, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, all part of the UK????

    1. I did. I heard good things about it from friends and I saw it had pretty good reviews from the reviewers I watch.

      1. Just like dad of war or one of us or whatever its dumb name was.
They’re all the same trash, over and over again.

        1. really? I see a lot of people hold a lot of the games in high regard. im not the biggest fan of god of war or horizon but I liked last of us part 1 and am interested in part 2 when it comes to pc as well as this title.

    2. well i always wanted a asscreed game in japan, not made by ubicrap, standards have gotten so low nowadays that this wont be as bad as most games.

    1. Soyny hasn’t been a Japanese company since 2016, you need to update that joke with a more Californian suicide method, like voting democrat.

  2. What a strange way for Sony to support piracy…ahh well must be some corporation mumbo jumbo thing.

  3. Let me get this straight
So, Ghost of Tsushima doesn’t have Denuvo, and can’t be purchased in more than half of the world legitimately on pc
so, SONY is basically advising us to pirate it

  4. It’s ironic that folks in countries where the game isn’t currently available might turn to piracy just to play it.

They weren’t already gonna do that?

    1. I live in Pakistan and pretty much buy all games on steam or GOG, what’s ur point ? Lot of PC gamers buy games even in third world countries, those who resort to piracy don’t have a good PC in the first place or they wait for sales and eventually buy the game. Thats why steam is loved by millions of PC gamers around the world.

      1. Don’t think there are enough people buying games often in countries like India or Pakistan. There are also a lot of people who pirate games when they don’t have Denuvo and are cracked on day one instead of spending on everything.

        1. Don’t know why u think that way, due to regional pricing and steam going international, lots of people are buying games in these countries because 90% people in these countries are PC gamers and the convenience. Heck console DVDs are exported here at full price which only rich people buy. Steam on the other hand appeals to all kind of people due to regional pricing. Baldur’s gate 3 is sold here at $25 only on steam, then there are people who wait for discounts and buy eventually. We living in third world countries pay more price for PC hardware due to import duties and taxes. You can buy rtx 4060 for $270 while we pay more than $350 just to get hands on mid range hardware. There is PC gamers group existing in every country and gives u idea how many people are buying games. Many of my friends are using steam, spent $150 and above for items in Counter strike, u think buying games will be difficult for these people ? FYI India is not banned which is smaller economy than Philippines and Philippines is banned.

  5. hoping that all these ignorent people, that created an issue from nothing, are happy now, cutting the access to a game for fellow gamers, just because they were bored to take two minutes to register on psn. In any case, Sony has to find a solution asap.

    1. Did you smoke a crack pipe before posting this? People complained because psn wasn’t in their country in the first place.

      1. no they didn’t. that was just the excuse that priviliged players used when every other argument failed them, because they were bored to spent two minutes and create a psn account. People from no psn countries, knew very well that you could just make a psn account from another country, as they were doing for the last 20 years…

        1. Going with that logic, why did Sony reverse it? People would stop playing the game they put hours in because they wouldnt make an account?

          1. People who were bored with the game, used this as an excuse to ask for a refund from steam(even from supported countries, just because they had to make an account). The game was bought by millions, after months many of them don’t continue to play…

          2. That’s not the point. The purchased a product one way and the company chooses to make it another way. They have all rights to request a refund. What does it matter if they are bored or not. That’s illogical and very stupid what you just said. Also quite dismissive.

          3. no, company didn’t change anything. it was stated from the start that the game required a psn account. The game was available to everybody. All anyone who hand’t complied with the psn prerequisite had to do, was to take two minutes and register for free. I wish that i could get a refund for every game i paid, played and completed.

          4. and you are incorrect….Helldivers 2 didn’t say it was required….THE CEO of the Devs said “it was always intended because that’s what SONY wants”….but it wasn’t listed on the steam page when people paid for it. Then they wanted to add it….

  6. Well as far as I’m aware they’re not implementing Denuvo, so this will kill sales for them.

Both Soyny and Xbox are trying to artificially prop up their PSN and XGP stats for greedy shareholders.

    1. Even with Denuvo it would kill sales.
What the f*k would Denuvo do? Magically get these people a VPN?

  7. Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Puerto Rico are the only American countries that won’t get it. Pretty random.

    1. Because most likely it’ll get a separate version (with JP text and JP dub only) just like Uncharted, TLoU and some other games.

    2. Japan plays on Mobile and Switch, they don’t care about Playstation.

Playstation are US consoles, the average Playstation gamer is now a black/hispanic male from the US.

You can clearly see this from the type of games on Playstation.

// the average playstation player struggles with reading comprehension, so all the written dialogue has been replaced with voiced cutscenes
// Playstation exclusives are all about Spiderman, Marvel, etc. Franchises known in the US but completely unknown in Japan.
// JRPG have been replaced with Action games and hack-and-slash games for a US audience.
// Games are highly “inclusive”. Spiderman is now a black/hispanic person.
// the best example is probably Yakuza, which now features a black protagonist who runs around in the US.

      1. I’ve been playing through Yakuza and it’s noticeable just how dumbed down each one becomes as they progress and the one where it had a whole section of agenda driven nonsense playing as a teenage girl.

        Jesus.

          1. Sounds like your a nonce who likes playing with underage girls you sad little person.

Probably like to interfere with little boys as well you noncey fa**ot.

  8. It looks like Sony is willing to lose sales to countries that can’t have access to the PSN and focus on locking down the rest of the world to their network for potential future gains.

It’s just more control-freak behavior from the console gaming industry and a big reason why I am a PC gamer only. Too many restrictions and negatives with consoles but I guess a lot of people don’t mind being sheep 🙁

  9. The existence of some countries on this list – like Japan – is beyond silly (aside everything overall being idiotic).

  10. It seems like Sony doesn’t care about sales in 3rd world shitholes which probably didn’t amount to much anyway.

  11. seeing those are all congobongo banana states – no big loss really, lets be fcking honest here 🙂

    1. You need to learn about the other countries in the world lad. Especially their GDP, that just had some heavy hitters.

    1. Sony are idiots. Their exclusives have massive development costs, and as a result their games are very pricey with razor thin profit margins.

So any added cost of having to set up customer service in a country that won’t make them a lot of money, is impossible without turning a loss.

  12. So all your crying over “muh unsupported countries” – happy now?

Pretty sure this Single Player game wouldn’t need any PSN yet now people can’t buy the only not-so SJW Soyny game in 1-2 years.

F**k that shooter junk helldivers and its low iq fans. It was already LIVE SERVICE game with nGuard DRM. Who cares for an extra account?

  13. Japan not included because most likely it’ll get a separate version (with JP text and JP dub only) just like Uncharted, TLoU and some other games.

  14. Did game publishers decided that 2024 is the year that they’ll compete with each other on how much backlash they can generate?
They are leapfrogging one another on a weekly basis at this point

Sums up perfectly. F**k crying PC (politically correct) goymers.

    1. You mean wait for a trojan …… If you are lucky it will only be a bitcoin miner eating up your bandwidth ….. Worst case your banking info is in someone’s hands and posted on the Dark Web for a fee …..

      1. If you know from where to download the game, i pirated lots of games in previous years when i was not able to purchase the games but i have even bought those which i pirated before. I never got any virus or anything, only those people get virus from pirated games who are noobs at using PC

  16. I wasn’t looking to buy anyways… I never actually bought any game on full price ever except for Forza Horizon 4 and 5 in my region were reasonable but this stunt by Sony is an utter bullshit!

  17. Steam not Sony are the ones delisting it. You can still buy it from Epic’s game store in those 100 countries
