Modder ‘CheeseIsCool’ has shared a new set of screenshots from the latest build of Entropy Zero: 2 RTX. These screenshots look incredible, and they perfectly showcase what modders can achieve with Path Tracing in older games.
For those unaware, Entropy: Zero 2 is considered one of the best total conversion mods for Half-Life 2. Entropy: Zero 2 features a brand new campaign spanning seven chapters of content. Players can expect a narrative-driven experience with a fully-voiced and choreographed cast. Plus, you can command squads of Combine soldiers.
Even though Entropy: Zero 2 RTX is still in beta, it looks absolutely stunning. This is by far the best example of what an RTX Remix Mod can offer. The screenshots show off the new path-traced lighting system. In these screenshots, you can easily notice the improved reflections, ambient occlusion and global illumination.
Sadly, this latest version is not yet available for download. However, you can go ahead and download its previous version from the link that you can find in this article.
Since modders are getting used to the RTX Remix Open Beta tools, we can expect more mods to pop up. And yes, we’ll make sure to cover most of them.
In January, we shared several RTX Remix Mods that are in the works. As such, you can take a look at screenshots and videos for Tomb Raider 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Manhunt, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and Garfield Kart RTX Remix. Last week, we also shared a video from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas RTX Remix. Oh, and last month, we shared videos for Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and Midnight Club 2.
Speaking of Path Tracing Mods for older titles, you might also want to check out the following ones. Modders have released early demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Tomb Raider, Max Payne and Call of Duty 4. Do note that the COD4 Mod is a “proof of concept” demo, and it does not look that great. On the other hand, the RTX Remix Mod for Max Payne looks amazing (at least in my opinion). Let’s also not forget the RTX Remix for COD: WoW. And then there is this amazing RTX Remix Mod for Need for Speed: Underground 2. Oh, and don’t forget to give a go at this RTX Remix for Unreal Tournament 2004. Finally, you can download Path Tracing Mods for Doom 2, Quake, Half-Life and Serious Sam.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Now this one I can get on board with. Looks good.
wow look at those tiles.this one is amazing
its so ridiculous .soon we will have old games with path tracing and 2024 games with crap lighting .wtf its a weird situation
For new AAA games add to that Stutter Engine 5, boring uninspired games, Publishers pushing games out before they’re ready for release loaded up with bugs and in some cases broken, Political Correct BS injected into games for no reason by employees that are hired based on diversity and inclusion rather than talent and experience, overpriced GPUs needed to run games well and for DLSS 3 and a price increase for AAA games to $70 on top of it all.
The future of AAA gaming is not looking good if we stay on this downward spiral.
the type of dev that made games like Half-Life 2 has been pushed out of the industry a minute ago
Looking good.
Why every surface/textures need to be shiny, glossy for path tracing?
Thats not what the screenshots depict.
Light is reflecting off of almost everything in those screenshots, including materials it shouldn’t be. It looks dumb and overblown.
k…
Looks great (except for the chromatic abberation).
