The next Mario game for Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Wonder, will officially release on October 20th. However, it appears that the game is already playable on PC in 4K/60fps via the Nintendo Switch emulators.
For those wondering, Super Mario Wonder leaked last week. And, to the surprise of no one, both Yuzu and RyujinX are able to run this new Mario game.
This isn’t the first time that something like this has happened. For instance, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were playable on PC prior their official release date.
Not only that, but we’ve seen a lot of Nintendo Switch games running on the aforementioned emulators on their launch day. Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta 3, Monster Hunter Rise, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, and Pikmin 4 were all playable on PC the moment they came out.
Super Mario Wonder is a traditional 2D side-scrolling Super Mario game with 3D models. So, in theory, Yuzu and RyujinX will have no problem running on a wide range of PC configurations. Or at least that’s my assumption. Now while the game is playable, I don’t know whether you can play it from start to finish. I also expect newer versions of Yuzu and RyujinX to bring both visual fixes and performance improvements.

only works on Ryujinx at this point, also I had a crash using vulkan on the first castle and had to switch to Opengl on AMD Gpu.

Do Nintendo games really leak a week ahead of release when it’s Nintendo doing it? They keep pre-loading games a week ahead of launch day despite knowing there are thousands of consoles out there that can very simply dump games.
Yeah I don’t think anything called a leak can NOT be suspected of just a form of marketing, mad men. Any publicity is good publicity, no one who grabs those for pc use was going to buy them anyways no sales lost. Homebrew switch owners a different story but likely a small minority and dedicated nintendo buyers, fans.
There’s an impressive amount of detail on those green and blue hills with all those tiny leaves. Those will either be blurry and lost in detail on the switch or will turn into a shimmery mess. There’s no way they didn’t go to this level of detail without the intention of re-releasing this on the next-gen nintendo console.
It runs on Yuzu up to a certain point using the patch thats out. Its a simple txt file you drop into the mod folder of the game and then it will launch it. Framerate wise it runs way better on Yuzu on my system compared to Ryujinx. Like I said it runs up to a certain point, but you can clearly see how much better it runs on Yuzu, so just wait for a proper fix.
