    1. “Looks worse than Metro”
Lets not go that far, but yeah, it looks bad.
Like any other generic title out there.

  1. “the game will be now targeting a Q1 2024 release date.”

will be turned in to q2 and then q3 and q4 and 2025 if ukraine lasts that long.

Speaking of which, i love when a rpg starts by beating you off and throwing you in the gutter like new vegas or atom rpg. But why is everyone speaking in english accents when the game is called CHORNOBYL, which is so stupid by the way, might as well ukranize heart and stalker, so no one has any idea wtf you saying.

This does not look good to me, it looks a mix between a good unity asset flip and using enb mods for anomaly and gamma, i guess the new engine wont crash as much when it runs out of memory but overall the visuals are heavily downgraded and i dont think anyone liked stalker and anomaly for the constant talking and cinematic events. Look how accurate the weapons are. I ll be honest the game looks less and less impressive with every trailers. I went from “wow this is a next gen game” to “whatever nice indie game, ill check it out at some point when they patch it a guess”

  2. The american accent is very off putting. Then again americans have been complaining about metro’s russian accent, so the devs are caving in most likely

    1. It prob have the option of having native vo and subtitles, always do that with the RGG yakuza-judgement games just feels weird with english vo, not as much personality and such.

      1. For one it’s vassal not vessel …..

There isn’t a single former Soviet republic still aligned with Russia that is better off than any of the former Soviet republics now aligned with the US and NATO …. Every NATO member is far better off today than they were 30 years ago which is why everyone wants to join and no one hardly sides with Russia and their dystopian society

Russians and their allies don’t understand Freedom having never had it, they’ve just stumbled from one form of dictatorship to another for hundreds of years ….

        1. not a single? really? georgia, transnistria or whatever its called, belarus, chechnya.

Also the idea we have freedom in the west is laughable, “democracy” is now defined as agreeing with the foreign policy of america or you are “anti democracy” if you are pro american foreign policy you can be a dictator and thy dont care, many such examples the saudis for example.

    2. That’s what happens when the gaming market in the US is bigger than the rest of the world combined. You are going to tailor your project for the largest market, that’s just Business 101 stuff ……

      1. Beyond the awful dub (no sane person would play this with english voices when the ukranian are available), it takes me out of the immersion, when for me STALKER is immersion above anything else.
Visually the game looks dated, considering is UE5. But with all the delays and troubles it doesn’t surprise me, at this point i expect at least a good story, the mods will do the rest as usual (gameplay/visuals)

    1. they definitely cut down on the graphics. It’s quite visible. As always, pleasing the console fanbois.

  3. It won’t feel like stalker without the odd UI and jankiness, those games were really time and place type of thing. It was kinda like being in the zone, make do with what you have, not rolls royce RT and convenient UI and smoothness. Would have been so cool to make it with the old tools and graphics imo another stalker story in stalker universe idk hard to get across what I mean if you didn’t get it from above.

  4. Objective compass
    Enemy markers
    Enemy line of sight indicators
    Scripted cinematic moments
    DPAD looking quick item UI
    Hans Zimmer drums

Yep this is a dumbed down console sequel.
Expect them to miss that Q1 deadline as well, the game is will come out late 2024 at the earliest, the inventory system isn’t even finished considering they showed a placeholder.

    1. Still can’t tell if even the penetration and ballistic system is returning at all or if they have just gone with simplified hitscan now.

      1. I very much doubt the ballistic system is returning.
This has to run on an Xbox with it’s pathetic CPU limitations.

    2. To be fair the original stalker also had objective compass and enemy markers on the minimap but you are right about that weird Hans Zimmer audio and cut-scenes.
It just doesn’t feel like good old stalker.

      1. Enemy line of sight indicators
        Scripted cinematic moments
        DPAD looking quick item UI
        Hans Zimmer drums

        None of these were in

    3. probably will be options to turn those things off. and if not, guarantee there will be mods to make it a true stalker experience

  5. Unreal Engine was a bad idea for STALKER. It just doesn’t feel like the ZONE I know from Shadow of Charnobyl.
    This just looks off.
X-ray engine for some reason looks more realistic and atmospheric to me than this.
    But we will see.

    1. one thing you can give to the trash ray engine and source engine is that they look like they take place in eastern europe.

  6. i am not holding any hope out for this game. Regardless i’ll gladly try it out on gamepass. looks like it will still be fun if even not a true stalker experience. I am sure you can turn off the compass markers and hud anyways to tune it however you like

  7. Seriously! What the F**** This is not the survival horror STALKER game I used to know. It’s just another Call of Duty. The original STALKER captivated me for being atmospheric, dark, mysterious, and almost no “cinematic experience.” It was a mature game for a mature audience, now it is being developed for console kiddies and their “cinematic experience.”.

PS: The MC looks like an American stranded in the zone.

  8. I will buy 10 copies to support the genocidal corrupt qeef maffia in its endevour to become an anti-russian Nuke storage for NATO in the name of peace and Blackrock prosperity

    1. when i saw the media complaining about ukranian civilians getting bombed calling it a war crime, my immediate reaction was “oh yeah? what about when the ukranian neonazis were bombing russian civilians for years what then? was it not a crime or do russian lives not matter because russians are subhumans or something?” Stupid ware the media is covering for nazis and selectively telling us to care about one side of “Bad guys” but not the other one.

      1. Still, you can get a pretty good idea of what the game will be like. That’s the point of trailers, after all, otherwise they wouldn’t exist.

  9. Those who dislike the graphics and think it’s everything in the game, go play C*ck of Dooty MW III. Visuals are top notch there so the game must be great, right?
