STALKER 2 Heart of Chernobyl new feature

Here are some brand new beautiful 4K screenshots for STALKER 2 [UPDATE: Removed due to DMCA]

It appears that a new set of beautiful 4K screenshots for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been leaked online. These screenshots are not from the recently leaked dev builds, and appear to be really polished.

STALKER 2 aims to feature an epic, non-linear story. Furthermore, your choices will influence both short-term consequences and global outcomes. The game will take place inside the Chernobyl exclusion zone, and it will have new locations along with the old ones.

The game will be using Unreal Engine 5 and was originally targeting a 2022 release date. In June 2022, GSC GameWorld announced that the game has been delayed until 2023. Realistically, though, I expect this game to slip into 2024.

My guess is that we’ll hear more about this new STALKER game in a few days. GSC GameWorld may showcase the game at Microsoft’s Xbox Showcase. And, if that doesn’t happen, we may see STALKER 2 at the Summer Game Fest 2023.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

 UPDATE:

Screenshots removed due to a DMCA from GSC GameWorld.

  1. The dev build is polished as well tbh.
I expected way less when I tried it.
Yeah, the menu isn’t really functional but it’s not far from a playable build.
There’s a suggestion in a VK page that the game’s exe isn’t gonna be changed much , so in case of Denuvo implementation, there may be an option to use this exe.

  2. The first this gog game, the second this build contains old map, there are placeholders even on places from the first trailer.

    1. Yeah, placeholders on weapons too! But what’s working is working well. I expected bugs, bad performance etc.. but apart from really long load times (got a nvme pcie3 and still 4-5min!) – everything looks fine
Let’s see if it’s gonna be a gog. Hope you’re right

  3. I think this is from an early build, the lighting looks off, like a lot of rushed out AAA games.
Not at all the stuff we’ve seen from official screenshots and gameplay footage.

    1. Agree, these look a bit ‘unfinished’ if you view them full-size.
There are missing textures (e.g. the black ‘stuff’ on the dome in the first shot), some of the ground textures have parallax depth and tessellation while others don’t, that odd translucent shape in front of the arch in shot #2, and shot #4 is missing a lighting / shadow pass on the catwalk structure. In fact, all the shots look like they’re missing some lighting FX.

      1. Tell me how so. It has that kinda realistic low saturation, industrial look, tendency to grays, and noisy detail for the trees and foliage.

  4. Pretty cool screenshot of the old “Russian Woodpecker” antenna array for their Cold War Era over the horizon RADAR system

    1. Yup …. Blowing up a major dam and then shelling civilians trying to rescue children and elderly from the flooding is about as low as one can get.
