Starfield will officially release on September 6th

Bethesda has just announced that Starfield will officially release on September 6th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the company has also shared a new trailer that you can find below.

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios. In this next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, players will be able to create any character they want and explore with unparalleled freedom as they embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.

According to the devs, Starfield will have over a hundred systems and over one thousand planets. And, as you may have guessed, you will be able to freely explore all of those planets.

Bethesda has not yet shared the game’s official PC system requirements.

Enjoy!

    1. no. this is why they releasing it on September and not june, so they dont have to worry about delays.

Yes the game was supposed to come out november last year, this tells you that there is alot of work to be done but if they were gonna release it and delay it again, they would do it in june, the fact they push the release day so far back means they dont take any chances.

    2. Why bet on Bethesda delaying games?
They might as well release no matter how f*cked up it is.
And whatever, it will sell millions anyway.

  1. Well that came out of nowhere. TBH I have absolutely 0 hype for this given the studio’s track record and also I don’t really find the setting particularly interesting. The generic music that almost sounds AI-generated in the video didn’t help either.

With that said, I look forward to all the videos of funny glitches, bugs, space jank and broken promises that Todd “Tell Me Lies” Howard and his team will surely deliver later this year! And videos of wacky mods too.

  2. I will wait for ” Starfield : Super Deluxe Modded Anniversary edition ” with fan generated AI voiced levels to fill the “Thousand ” of empty planets as I have more faith in the modders than Bugtheda .

    1. same, i cant wait until this game is out for a year and modded.

But that being said, i am a sucker for sci fi stuff that are realistic instead of fantasy…like say star wars its fantastical not realistic or scientifically accurate all…and i like the whole going down to planets and the monolithic space odyssey visuals. So to me this looks great. Not a fan of skyrim or god of war or horizon etc.

Since this is gonna take so long, this means that spacebourne 2, everpace 2 and starcom uknown space have no competition. Hopefully spacebourne 2 can release before starfield.

      1. We jumped into modding Skyrim almost within the month it released since it was based on previous similar engines. I think the hardest part was we couldn’t compile scripts at first and just made minor changes. Man it’s been a while since I was in that code but, like you, I have high hopes for this game in 2024 after modding tools are properly released.

        I assume you’re playing/played Elite Dangerous?

I’ve seen people playing Spacebourne 2 so I thought it was out, but see it’s just in E.A.

        1. Not anymore elite dangerous has gotten boring after all those years without a main story and they ditched the offline promise, combine that with the mess that odyssey was and still kinda is, i called it quits.

    1. No need to hope, it’s Bethesda after all…however do not forget to edit “starfield.ini” before starting the game!

  3. Looks vague, like all videos/images that have been leaked (frankly so little has seen the light, its mysterious).

  4. Imagine having a console exclusive after almost 3 years of its existence….. just sad. (I say that as a Microsoft fan too).

  5. the fact we are excited for when this game is finished and modded and improved tells you all you need to know about the industry.

  6. got the feels big time with this trailer. I will def wait to pick it up until its discounted for cyber monday and has some patches. anyone that is getting it day one will likely be greeted with the usual launch bugs and problems.

  7. I know that’s probably just a joke, but I just wanted to point out that the USA has an anti-ICBM defense system that can not only knock a nuclear missile out of the air, but which has also been used to shoot down a satellite before it could re-enter Earth’s atmosphere.

Also, isn’t the nuclear war between the USA and China supposed to happen on October 23, 2077? I think we’ll be OK in September.

  8. So sad….even we all know that this will going to be filled with bugs, unoptimized and a broken mess but still people are going to buy it/support it and thus making it a success despite being treated like a very low level customer who gets unfinished and unfuctional product and can’t even complain about it……….

  9. “According to the devs, Starfield will have over a hundred systems and
over one thousand planets. And, as you may have guessed, you will be
able to freely explore all of those planets.”
There it is again. No. This isn’t going to happen. You will NOT be able to freely explore even one planet. There is no curvature, the game is made of flat “map” tiles. Your guess is as good as mine what happens if you keep walking in the same direction. Maybe defensive turrets shoot you, or maybe the game procedurally generates terrain with nothing to do in it, hoping you’ll get bored. You won’t get to loop all the way around though, that’s for sure. How do I know this? Because it would take effort and barely any player would ever actually encounter it, so Bethesda wouldn’t bother. And I’m not even saying that’s a bad choice. What I am saying is that I hope Bethesda themselves don’t claim you can “freely explore planets” because that would be false advertising.
