NVIDIA has announced that the latest version of DLSS, DLSS 3, will be coming to four new games this month. These four games are Need for Speed Unbound, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, WRC Generations – The FIA WRC Official Game, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
NVIDIA DLSS 3 uses Frame Generation in order to almost double the performance of DLSS 2. Furthermore, Frame Generation can improve performance in CPU-bound games.
Need for Speed Unbound will support DLSS 3 from the get-go. On the other hand, KT Racing will add DLSS 3 to WRC Generations tomorrow. As for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, both of them will support DLSS 3 on launch day.
We’ll be sure to benchmark DLSS 3 in these games, so stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. I wonder if nvidia mandates dlss 2 with dlss 3 integration. They are mutually exclusive technologies and one could see dlss 3 being offered (which has a higher uplift in general) only by a developer that doesn’t want to go through the trouble of adding dlss 2.
DLSS3 has the same implementation requirements as DLSS2, probably actually slightly more work involved.
So implementing DLSS3 alone makes no sense. This doesn’t require speculation about Nvidia telling developers what to do.
If you want to talk about “mandates”, look at AMD sponsored titles which get laughable ray tracing features, usually just shadows, and they never get patched with DLSS.
Meanwhile Nvidia sponsored games, or games that started out only having DLSS, have many times gotten FSR now.
yup
if you have a 4090/80….who the f#$k cares about dlss?!?!!….oh 120 fps isn’t enough for you??? what about a 2060 owner? i’m sure they’d like above 60fps…nvidia is r**ard.
I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me?
