A couple of hours ago, we informed you about the first PC patch for Gotham Knights. What we forgot to mention, however, is that Warner Bros and QLOC have also removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from the game.
Gotham Knights came out on PC on October 21st. And, in just five days, the developers have removed the controversial anti-tamper tech.
Now I don’t know whether this was by accident or not. After all, we’ve seen such mistakes happening in the past. What we do know is that the game currently does not have Denuvo.
A lot of people assumed that the game would run better without Denuvo. Well, and since we’ve tested this patch, we can tell you that Denuvo had no performance impact at all. While driving the batcycle, we are still getting the same framerate drops (dropping from 70/80fps to 44fps) at the exact same locations. As we’ve said, this appears to be an I/O engine issue, and not a CPU issue. Thus, we are not surprised that the game does not run better/faster.
Let’s hope that QLOC will somehow address the game’s performance/optimization issues via its next patch!

And as we’ve assumed, the removal of Denuvo was a mistake. QLOC has issued a new update that re-added the controversial anti-tamper tech to the game.

It’s time to start censoring them back. The new Spiderman was decent once I removed the rainbow flags with a mod they have tried to erase from the internet. When I can remove the man in drag (Nadine) and ridiculous fight scene that Neil Druckmann inserted in Amy Hennig’s game he hijacked, I might care about playing through Uncharted 4. He emasculated Nathan Drake and killed Joel as soon as the real genius left Naughty Dog (Bruce Straley). What a time to be alive. Playing games hijacked by people who hate you.
Yep, that Nadine met with Drake is pretty much nonsense and only some kind of shows of women power in a very masculine way possible, showing lazy unresearched writing. Strong women can be shown not by mimicking men’s trait in every way possible, but can be done by being different from men … Look at House of The Dragon and Rings of Power writing difference for their main protagonist. But, Im admitted Uncharted 4 still very fun romp in my opinion, probably due to Bruce still involved on it

i have better fps with 4090 without denuvo 100%, maybe not with the bike ok but all in all it is smoother. I don’t think the devs deleted Denuvo for fun, that doesn’t make any sense.
Same for me, finally playable on my side with 3070Ti and 5600x.
If you still have performances issues, might want to try -NoTextureStreaming and -useallavailablecores as launch command line, disabling fullscreen optimisation, and “Preferer Maximum Performance” in Windows Advanced Graphic Settings for the game executable.
Try to improve whatever performance they can on this POS abomination!
A pathetic move would be to remove denuvo and see if that “fixes” the game, which is highly probable why they did it, not only proving their incompetence also yet again that denuvo is a cancer that even when it does “protect” causes a bunch of headaches nonetheless.
Best case scenario they are cutting their loses time wise and don’t want the cancer meddling with any upcaming patches.

I would test that statement on lower CPU cores. Just because you run into a I/O issue on a good CPU, doesn’t mean Denuvo can’t help on potential buyers systems. So it still probably makes sense for the publisher. Granted Unreal 4 sucks in open world games. Jedi Fallen Order stutters to this day on the best CPU in the world with the fastest SSD and it’s not trying to be as large as a Batman game.
In the end who cares. Characters no one but the most sweaty fanboy cares about, writers that suck. This game could be a tech masterpiece and the game would still suck.
