Dragon Age fans, here is something for you today. Dalishious has released a must-have remaster mod for the first Dragon Age game, Dragon Age: Origins.
According to the modder, the purpose of this mod is to make Dragon Age Origins look a little less dated, while still maintaining its memorable style and feeling.
In order to achieve something like that, the modder upgraded the game’s textures via AI techniques. Moreover, he included some mesh replacements. Players can also find some new character creation presets and options. Not only that, but there are headmorphs for most NPCs, more vibrant tints for character skin, hair and eyes, and a few cutscene replacements with a more cinematic feel.

Morrigan in DAO was modeled on the actress Claudia Black who played Aeryn Sun in Farscape and she did the voice of Morrigan.

It’s just sad that a true sequel will never exist. Was an awesome RPG with lots of potential, it’s future ruined by wokeism and EA.

I see DAO as the last great game by Bioware. EA bought them towards the end of 2007 and it was too late for them to mess this game up but after this they slowly started to ruin Bioware. Now Bioware is just Bioware in name only. Most of the real talent has left and the 2 co-founders retired in 2012.

Gotta say rpg modders are… different.
While I am personally not a fan of any character changes, I do however like the improved visual fidelity on props and such.
I am currently going through DAO, midway through Awakening actually. And the game looks gorgeous as it is. The biggest visual offenders are doors, tents and fences imo. Those look very very low resolution and blurry.
From what I understand this mod is “pick and choose” type of a thing. Will download it and only include the files that “remaster” the props in the world.

What the hell happened to the statue? That’s not a remaster, that’s a remake/reimagining, and not in the good way.
If I recall correctly (as someone who follows the creator on tumblr), it was simply impossible to make that one HD because of the initial game textures, so she replaced it with one of the statues from either da2 or dai.
So is all the changes in art and character changes due to limitations or personal preference?
You can either use that statue or the original one sharpened from what I saw. I just deleted all the folders from that mod and am using only the Doors and some Props I handpicked. And all the statues, not just Andraste one, are in HD now with the original design.

BioWare began the descent into EA hell after DAO. This game was the last great game from BioWare. The 2 co-founders retired in 2012. Most of the real talent is long gone. BioWare exists in name only and I don’t expect any turn around and make a comeback from them. It’s way too late for that.
