Airoheart feature

PC demo released for the Unreal Engine 4-powered 16-bit Zelda-inspired game, Airoheart

In January, we informed you about a new 16-bit Zelda-inspired game that will be using Unreal Engine 4, Airoheart. And earlier this week, SOEDESCO released a free PC demo for it on Steam, allowing PC gamers to get a taste of it.

Do note that this is a time-limited demo that will be available until May 9th. After that date, you won’t be able to download and/or play it.

Airoheart aims to adapt the deep and emotional storytelling of the Final Fantasy series with the style and charm of the early Legend of Zelda series. From the much-cherished top-down pixel perspective title of the mid-90s, it features old-school real-time combat, puzzles and platforming sequences in a huge open world.

Airoheart has been in development since 2018 and was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2020. It also looks really retro-cool. It also doesn’t look like anything we’ve seen so far in Unreal Engine 4, so kudos to Pixel Heart Studio.

You can download the demo from here.

Have fun!

  1. wow. those assets really are legally distinct (the best kind of distinct) from the assets of A Link to The Past

  2. Looks great, I just don’t understand why the main character is just a brown blob with a headband. Maybe make him a distinct color.

  3. I don’t like supporting Western indie devs. They’re all pozzed, and they get together to make sure everything is pozzed in the Indie sphere.

  4. I am sure PC specs will go like:

    Minimum

    I7 3770k
    GTX 770 or R9 290
    8 GB RAM

    Recommended

    Ryzen 3600
    RTX 2070
    16 GB RAM

Modern game dev hacks too busy sipping starbucks to care about PC optimization

  5. Straight up ripped assets from Zelda A link to the Past. Waterfalls, And walking over shallow water, and blocked doors are literally the same.

This ain’t inspired, this is straight up ripping assets. Lol.
