Rockstar has just announced that the classic/original PC Version of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas will be, once again, available for purchase. The team claimed that these classic games will be available as a bundle on Rockstar Store soon. However, there is no word yet on whether these classics will return to Steam.
What this means is that PC gamers will be able to get these classics and mod them. So, let’s hope that these re-releases of the original PC games won’t have any ridiculous restrictions that will break compatibility with all the existing mods for them.
In addition, Rockstar claimed that this bundle will be available for free to those that have purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. This free offer will last until June 30th, 2022.
As Rockstar stated:
“We will be adding the classic PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back to the Rockstar Store shortly as a bundle. Additionally, everyone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store through June 30, 2022, will receive these classic versions in their Rockstar Games Launcher library at no additional cost. We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store.”
Lastly, Rockstar is working on updates that will fix most of the major technical issues that currently plague GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
Stay tuned for more!

The demaster is so bad that they are offering the “classics” for free as an apology. Nice.
For free? Pretty sure they want you to purchase them
Maybe read the article? they are giving the games to those that already got “busted” with the Demasters.
Of course they are going to sell them separately too.
Who cares? I will never use their launcher anyway and this “original versions” still available around internet on all torrents for free.
Would ya look at that!
Dumbstar were hunting down the mods for the original editions.
They didn’t want the superior mods to influence the sale of definitive editions.
Now that’s done & the definitive editions are out and they’re broken ASF as well as their devs are grossly incompetent … they’re folding like origami. Such shame.
They’ll even let the modders do the all the Repair work for the definitive editions, too.
They are seriously r*tarded these days.
Damn what a generous deal! Must buy!
If you don’t want any ridiculous restriction, just pirate it. Pirating is not only cheaper, is easier.
From the link in the article:
“In the meantime, it pains us to mention that we are hearing reports of members of the development teams being harassed on social media.”
Yeah, I’m sure the “harassment” those developers are experiencing is so much worse than the modders developing reverse engineered source ports, who had your lawyers show up at their doorstep.
checks out, the American libtard snowflake can’t take criticism, however mild it be
These people take legit criticism for a badly made work as an attack instead of a way to improve upon it.
PLeASe bE PaTIenT wItH uS wE goT dIvErSE aUtISm….HURR DURRRR.
EVERY COMPANY WHO HIRES THESE PEOPLE TURNS INTO SHT, THEIR GAMES SHIP BROKEN AND THEY SUCK…AND THE DUMB FCKS KEEP DOING IT.
HOLY CRAP.
Or awesome mods like GTAU or GTALCS that had to shut down. Is C* bringing us GTA LCS PC port and some big united GTA with Bully map?
-bash gamers which are your fans
-hire “diverse” idiots because they are not white men
-screw up every release due to hiring diverse idiots
-get yelled at for not listening and doing the stupid thing.
-cry about it and yell “harassments”
“We are diverse so please be nice to us” sounds like “please be patient with us we got autism”
Hey wanna show some games in your show? Nope have a lecture about diversity.
Quake showed us how a remaster should actually be handled:
-First priority should be offering a version of the game that works straight out of the box, with all modern graphics features present (resolution, high FPS support, FOV slider, etc.)
-Update the visuals in keeping with the original art style, preferably with the option to switch between old and new
-Keep the original version of the game present for those who prefer it
-RESTORE the soundtrack instead of removing it
The Rockstar launcher needs to die.
Force online connection for single player equals zero purchase support from me.
The Rockstar launcher doesn’t work with RDR2 if you use a RAMdrive. I made them aware of this a couple of months after launch.
And what was the reason why they took those originals down?
Because they’re greedy pieces of sh*t. Let me clarify, i don’t fully blame the dev team. It’s not their fault take 2 is a flaming pile of garbage. We have to remember to give credit where credit is due.
To sell the remasters obviously, and give a middle finger to PC users as usual.
I can asure that if the remasters wouldnt be so badly receive (and with good reason, they are awful) the OG games wouldnt be back. This is Rockstar trying to save face with a obvious PR movement (an indirect admision of how bad the demasters are by “gifting” the OGs with the purchase…now finally at least there’s value on it).
Removing choices to your customers is always a bad idea, as bad as hiring a mobile games dev team to recreate such important games for Rockstar’s legacy.
Didn’t he white knight for Cyberpunk? I liked the game despite the flaws, but you won’t ever see me defending it.
I defended the good parts, and dished on the bad parts. Like you not being able to go on ramp without having a chance of dying. That is an annoying bug. And attacked morons like Latex for lying about problems that did not exist.

Why that doesnt surprise me? Dr Jewster is just a contrarian or really have low standards.
Evidence of his lies.
fckup of the century. Meanwhile pirates fixed the game’s problems with fan patches and added all the stuff rockstar removed, music, hot cofee, etc.

Holy f**kin s**t. Getting logistical whiplash with Rockstar these days.
I can’t even give a crap about what you clowns do going forward. You’re lost.
The original PC versions of GTA 3, GTA Vice City & GTA San Andreas will soon be available for purchase AS SOON AS WE MAKE THEM WORSE THAN THE “so called RAMSTER we made”.

Aka: we know we f’n suck at life. Here’s a half assed attempt to rectify is robbing or customers of their hard earned money.
F rockstar forever, small Indy companies are the only ones getting my money these days. At least they have an excuse for the issues that arise in their games.
Can’t mod them! They’ll sue you! /s
I haven’t bought a Rockstar game in almost a decade probably. And that will continue.
Not truly the original versions though as their soundtracks will be butchered.
So they are going to bringing back the original versions of GTA Trilogy,
yet already delisting Max Payne 1 and 2 off from Steam’s store, for couple of regions.
Man, these companies keeps getting embrassed themselves,
both Take Two and Crookstar Games
