Bandai Namco has lifted the embargo for the Closed Network Test of Elden Ring, and below you can find a video showing 29 minutes of gameplay footage from it. This gameplay footage was captured on PS5, so it will give you an idea of how the game will look on PC (current-gen consoles and PC will look similar).
Elden Ring is the latest action RPG by FromSoftware. In this game, players will ride through the vast fields, gallop over rolling hills, and leap to the top of rocky crags on your ephemeral steed, revealing a world teeming with life and danger.
Elden Ring will have mythic creatures that prowl the veldts, ineffable horrors that lurk in the bogs and marshes, and all manner of soldiers and itinerant warriors. Moreover, shy creatures will nibble on sweet grasses or scuttle through the underbrush.
Furthermore, players can try dozens of skills and find one to best suit their style. Players can practice stealth to avoid danger or catch enemies unaware. Additionally, they can use the environment, the weather, and the time of day to gain an advantage.
Elden Ring will not support framerates higher than 60fps on PC. However, FromSoftware plans to add support for Ray Tracing via a future patch.
Lastly, the game will release on February 25th, 2022!

its like dark souls but open world. In the past that would mean its like dark souls but bigger now it means it will be too bloated compared to more linear experiences which is something i have noticed lately about game design.

I mean the type of game that is designed for consoles and controllers in mind first rather than pc and mouse and keyboard. people on pc play chivalry, mordhau, jedi knight games, overgrowth and etc. these are the type of games designed with pc in mind first and the combat system (in jedi knight games for example) is considered the best melee combat system. most console games are too restrictive and clunky by pc gaming standards.
sure you can argue that a lot of console gamers (such as yourself?) now play on pc and now they’re a part of the pc community but generally speaking, this isn’t that kind of community and you should know that by now.

The problem isn’t the Souls genre, it’s that From Software seems to be only making Souls-like games. Elden Ring should have been the opportunity to create a new IP with a new gameplay, instead it’s just a cheap reskin of Dark Souls.

Well, I don’t like these series, much because the lack of a story to go with, (yes, I like good plots), but this game is absolute ugly. Just take a look at 4:40, gzus! Oh, and the gameplay, as far as I can see, svcks balls just like its predecessors.

It’s not nice to try and force your taste into others and act as if your taste was superior, but I agree in parts, this game looks like a bpos! But it’s just me.
This is not a matter of taste, it’s a matter of Truth vs Fanboyism. The souls franchise have some of the worse gameplay ever. And it saddens me that The Surge doesn’t get the respect it derives because it’s an ACTUAL PC GAME, built from top to bottom. Flawless KB+M controls and don’t tell me that “these types of games are meant to play with controller because that’s garbage. Things are “mean’t” to play with whatever it’s optimized for. And if they do the work it will work just fine. Truth is from software games are just horrible gameplay, Sekiro seemed to be on point but everything else is pretty trashy.
