Valve is well known for its Half-Life and Portal video-game series. However, it appears that the company was working on a space pirate game, called Stars of Blood, and below you can find some concept arts from it.
Unfortunately, and other than these leaked concept arts, we don’t have any additional details about this game. In 2012 confirmed that the game was no longer in development. So yeah, this is one of Valve’s experimental games that never saw the light of day.
These leaked concept arts show a variety of environments. The game would feature deserts, as well as dystopian cities. My guess is that Valve would also go for an open-world game.
So, while these concept arts look awesome, I don’t think the technology back in 2012 was up for something like that. Sure thing, we got Far Cry 3 in 2012, however, Stars of Blood seems more like a Star Citizen game. Keep also in mind that in 2012, Valve released CS: Global Offensive; a game that wasn’t exactly pushing the graphical boundaries of PC graphics.
But anyway, I’m assuming that these concept arts may interest some Valve fans, so go ahead and take a look at them.
Kudos to Obscure Game Aesthetics for sharing them!

Oh how i love these concept art! Makes you dream what kind of epic possibilities future game can have.
My hopes are now on Starfield..for Star Citizen has lost my interrest a long time ago.
I’m starting to get excited for Starfeild. I think they can capitalize on Cyberbug 77 being a let down and get some real hype for a fresh RPG title to get sunk into.
Ah, don’t we all miss the idea of Valve making games….
Only when players stop giving money for their cash grab schemes, so not happening…
Shame. With current tech it could be something great if Valve actually cared about making games again.
Newell said a while back that Valve was “back in the business of making games again.” I guess that was just idle talk.
all that hat money has to go somwhere VALVE, make a new f*king game already.
blizzard is dying, go buy it up or something.
really miss the times when blizzard cared about the games they released, now they just care about money
All the games they made was just a stepping stone for the true one game: taking money away from dumb players.
Turns out when you get money from nothing you don’t need to work anymore.
valve is in business of making money not games, as long as they make more money on f2p games and store they will never do normal games as it would be waste of money. Same goes for any other company in gaming, games are just means to end, no one in gaming business cares about games or gamers. Its wrong but people like it and support it by buying sh**ty games.
star citizen isnt a game
It is a game in development, played on average by 30.000 backers daily and 100.000 during free event.
SC is the perfect counter example of current game industry behavior: remaster of old games or release of “new” ones unfinished… but still mainly copy/paste of previous version.
There is a reason why Sc do receive more support every year and it is not because there is nothing to play with 🙂
