Nintendo has just released Metroid Dread on Nintendo Switch and PC gamers can already play this game via Nintendo Switch emulators. Not only that, but the game appears to be running with more than 60fps in 4K on an NVIDIA GTX1060 GPU.
YouTube’s ‘Gaminja’ has shared the following video, showing Metroid Dread running on Ryujinx. Ryujinx is one of the best Nintendo Switch emulators, and this new Metroid game appears to be running incredibly well.
In order to capture this video, Gaminja used an Intel Core i5 8400 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and 16GB of RAM. Furthermore, and thanks to Ryujinx, PC gamers can unlock the game’s framerate. And, as we can see, the game runs with more than 60fps in 4K on this mid-tier GPU.
Now I don’t know whether the full game is playable, from start to end. Still, the fact that Ryujinx can run this brand new Nintendo Switch game so well is incredible.
So, even though Nintendo does not plan to port Metroid Dread to PC, PC gamers can actually play it.

Console had it’s glory days when it was king but they are mostly gone now. The PC is well on it’s way to becoming the universal gaming platform. It’s stupid for Nintendo to try to lock down their exclusives to their consoles. They are passing up tens of millions of dollars with their stubborn thinking. That is bad business thinking.

No, it’s so Nintendo can push their consoles. The same reason that MS and Sony did and they still do at times but they are slowly realizing how much money can be made from PC gamers by porting their exclusives.
On the subject of piracy look at the Publisher Ubisoft. They claimed in 2012 that 95% of PC gamers are pirates and yet they make hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from PC gamers year after year. Check their Annual Financial Reports if you doubt that.
Another argument in favor to the death of consoles is the push of MS (mostly, but any major videogames company has one now) gamepass/streaming service.
At some point making consoles is not worth it when you can just charge a subscription fee and the user ends up owning nothing and still paying for it. Meanwhile Nintendo discovered the internet a couple of years ago.

I played it for 3 days already and it runs perfectly on ryujinx in 1440p. I play ninga gaiden II on xenia it’s very fun, much better this sh**ty Ninja gaiden sigma. I have so many games to play aaaaaaahhhhhh.
use yuzu instead it stutters in ryujinx.
Altough that is true, Yuzu is locked at native resolution. So it’s kind of pick your poison.

Thing is, every pirated copy of this game is not a lost sale because all those players were not going to buy the game anyway unless these companies get their pride out of the way and release more on PC.

Okay, I get it if this game was released on PC. However, as far as I know this game is only released on the Switch, no one’s gonna go out and buy a $300 console just to play this game. So Nintendo is not losing anything. Playing this via an emulator doesn’t mean a loss in sales. The people going as far as using an emulator aren’t ones to bother buying anyway.
