First gameplay trailer for Battlefield 2042’s new community-driven mode, Battlefield Portal

Electronic Arts and DICE have officially revealed a new game mode for Battlefield 2042, Battlefield Portal. Battlefield Portal is an all-new, community-driven platform where players will be able to change the rules of war by creating, sharing and discovering unexpected battles from Battlefield’s iconic past, present, and future.

In case you’re wondering, Battlefield Portal is basically the Battlehub we mentioned in June 2021. Battlefield Portal will run on the Battlefield 2042 Engine and will have remastered maps from previous Battlefield games.

Battlefield 2042 is a first-person shooter that marks the return to the iconic all-out warfare of the franchise. Players will adapt and overcome in a near-future world transformed by disorder. The game will feature a cutting-edge arsenal into dynamically-changing battlegrounds supporting 128 players. It also promises to have unprecedented scale, and epic destruction.

Battlefield 2042 releases on October 22nd and will be using NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex techs.

Lastly, this new BF won’t have any single-player mode. Instead, Battlefield 2042 will be focusing on multiplayer action.

Enjoy!

    1. They probably knew that people wouldn’t play as women so they’ve taken the CoD approach by adding specialists and removing the class system (the base of the BF franchise).

  1. So…they have all these old assets, nice way to reuse them i guess. Forget about balance…but is Battlefield after all.

    1. What f*king balance?
No balance since console focused Bad Company progression systems became the norm.

      1. I thought the part when i said “is Battlefield after all” was enough of a hint to my implication that balance doesnt exists in this games. I was wrong it seems.

  2. This looks super fun. Playing across different time periods is definitely a first in a mainstream shooter franchise.

Glad they are embracing all the goofy stuff the community does (medics with defibs vs old germans with knives). The part where they launched a car at a plane was hilarious.

First time in a while that a gamemode actually looks exciting.

    1. bf v trailer “hahaha so goofy and stupid”
everyone : “bood what is this trash, its not realistic”

bf 2042 “hahaha so goofy and stupid”
everyone “nom nom nom this game looks so awesome, it has worse graphics than 4 but nom nom nom i love sucking off ea”

      PATHETIC.

      1. Well to be fair, this is a game mode that’s offering something different to the franchise I guess. Haven’t played them in a long time so I can’t say. The purpose of this trailer from what I understand was to give the viewers an idea of how much we’ll be able to customize the rules of any given match. It could go either way but if it works as expected then it could add more to the replayability of this game. Kinda like how titles such as GoldenEye provided options like “infinite ammo” or “no radar” which changed the whole dynamics of the conventional multiplayer modes.

At least try to be cautiously optimistic/pessimistic or be on the fence. Not everything should be black and white.

          1. Not really sure when mods first came about but game modes obviously came first. Developers implemented all kinds of wacky features before users were able to modify their games.

        1. i do, i liked doom eternal, not as good as doom 2016, i liked terminator resistance, sniper ghost warrior contracts 2, control, fenyx rising, and other stuff.

    2. ok multiplayer consoooomer NPC. Lazy devs who can’t come up with original games reside to milking e-sports r*tards dry instead of coming up with a unique storyline / mechanic or anything original really.

  3. Newest Halo footage: No sprinting

    Newest Battlefield footage: No women

I guess we’ve entered the era of omissive trailers now. It used to be that trailers would contain extra things players wanted and then those things would be missing from the game. Now games contain things the players DON’T want but instead of removing those things from the games they are removed from the trailers. What a twist.

  4. oh snap, i thik i saw a BC2 level in there. def a nod to the game w/ the smily face grenade!!!! can’t wait!
