The Witcher 3 Next-Gen & Cyberpunk 2077 source codes are now on torrent sites

In February, CDPR revealed that it was a victim of a targeted cyberattack. As we reported back then, a hacker group was able to obtain the source codes for The Witcher 3, The Witcher 3 Next-Gen, Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent. And, from the looks of it, the source codes for The Witcher 3 Next-Gen and Cyberpunk 2077 are already on torrent sites.

As we’ve already reported, CDPR was trying to take down some tweets that linked to Gwent’s source code. At that time, though, only Gwent’s source code was available on torrent sites. This has changed now as all source codes are available.

Now while we won’t allow any links to pirated content, we also suggest being extremely cautious. We are certain that a lot of fake torrents will appear online. If you want to download the source codes, you can do so at your own risk.

Let’s continue with a juicy detail. Here is the readme from the torrent containing the source codes.

Thankfully, the hackers will not publically leak any employee data. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that leaking the source codes of the aforementioned games is “fine“. However, it’s not as awful as leaking information about CDPR’s employees.

This huge leak features SDKs for all major consoles, including PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X.

Again, we won’t share any additional details on how you can get your hands on this leak. Comments with links to pirated content will also be deleted (so don’t bother sharing anything).

  1. Ha ha! Maybe those hackers wanna start fixing Cyberprank bugs since they are already there and got tools!

  2. They could turn this to their benefit with somethig like :

“Hey coMmUnITy we released the source code of broken2077 helps us fix it. You get another freebi, Witcher 3!! as an apology. Make great things”

But that’s me being in a good mood and waring my naive hat.

      1. Agreed, hope we get to see more of that franchise even when its been kind of dumbed down compare to the old ones

  3. The hackers having a better cyberpunk experience than people who played Cyberpunk 2077, get bent CDPR.

  4. This huge leak features SDKs for all major consoles, including PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X.

Would rather see the PC version’s SDK since CDPR has never publicly released an SDK (Redkit) since Witcher 2.

  5. Why are people so angry about 2077? It’s just a game guys don’t be so damn angry. CDPR brought one of the best games EVER but all you can do is b*tch about 2077.

  6. Why would anybody care or pay 10k for this? These games are nothing great anyways. The only people that probably desperately want and can use this are those chinese companys to make sh##ty half a$$#d wannabe games that also suck

    1. Could have happened anyway. That said just a shame some companies see skin color as of more importance than competence for the position their employing to and the thing is – The are the real razis making skin-color a deciding factor on who get the job and not.

      1. it’s also institutionalized by the various marxist bankster hexagram governments too, a la “affirmitive action” “diversity” deliberate illegal immigrant flooding by hexagram pols etc etc etc

    2. exactly marxist inspired racist hiring and fake promotions for them based on a low bar. It’s all about science until the science doesn’t agree with their political totalitarian goals, i.e. “it’s all performance based on the best candidates who perform the most efficiently and innovate” riiiiight sure, hexagrams ugh.

      1. Focusing on color like yourself would indeed make YOU the racist lol. but eh, I don’t expect logic from people like you. Have a good one little guy.

          1. Yeah, but it’s awful funny that white men couldn’t get the U.S. space program off the ground without the need of black people to do the math and the calculations for them – just saying. White men can’t do it all can they???

          2. You can say that again, pal! Every non-white race, especially Blacks, Hispanics, AND most importantly Asians, are very much very sage races indeed.

  7. That’s huge. The impact this will have on their already poor public view with all the data mine and proof of missing/cut features and over promise on the trailers… I’m not really sure how they will recover enough stability to finance and release another game.

    1. – CDPR already collected enough money to fund their next game.
      – The average gamer will never hear this.
      – Tons of people who enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077 or think it’s the best game they have ever played don’t give a damn.
      – Once The Witcher 4 is announced, the collective mind of gamers will switch off.

      1. that. For some stupid reason ppl thing anyone cares about leaks, missing features etc. Games are sold to millions upon millions of ppl and about 95% s said ppl never visit any gaming forums or sites like dsog so they dont know about it and dont care about it. thats why steam review bombing(if deserved) is important as its often only place they check.

  8. Hmm, the Witcher 3 source code is indicated to be the coveted E3 engine meaning pre-downgrade. I sure hope it’s true and modders will have a field day with it.

  9. Daym… perhaps something good come out of this thoo.. some might learn a thing or two from that source code although I have to say cdpr’s optimization is umm lacking at times to put it kind of nice.

    1. Coca-Cola has become such a big hack. So much so it played itself simply by appeasing Trump with a novelty sized Diet Coke, and most sandwich chains, which have been considered a "sleep" segment for many, now serve Pepsi with extreme confidence, even simple and embattled Subway, although it already did so outside of the US for years or even decades.

  10. True that. The most regular hardcore manbabies among them also downvoted your comment. Furiously smashing that downvote button must be helping them cope harder, lol.

  11. Imagine being one of the idiots in the comments spreading hate against a game company for not making the game the way they wanted. What an entitled b*tch you must be to expect anything that you put nothing into developing as if the world owes you sh*t. You want your precious game so much then go make one.

    1. Remember, kids. The best way to support developers is simply don't steal source codes for games.
