Capcom announced today that the new title Resident Evil Village has shipped over 3 million units worldwide. Additionally, the cumulative shipments of the games in the series now exceed 100 million units since the first title debuted in 1996.
Representing the eighth main entry in the series, Resident Evil Village is the sequel to Resident Evil 7 biohazard. As Capcom noted, RE Village features a higher degree of action and even more expansive, highly-engaging gameplay.
In the game, players take on the role of protagonist Ethan Winters. Players will delve into a new kind of survival horror set in a mysterious, icy village. The game uses the RE Engine and features real-time ray tracing effects. Be sure to read our PC Performance Analysis as the PC version currently has some optimization issues.
Moreover, Capcom will launch Resident Evil Re:Verse; an online multiplayer action game where players battle it out as popular characters from the series. The game will be provided free to players who purchase Resident Evil Village. Capcom further plans a number of initiatives to expand the value of the brand, including the franchise’s first original CG animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which will launch worldwide exclusively on Netflix, as well as a variety of other cross-media expansions.

Haven’t played it yet, but judging by all those positive reviews, it’s well deserved.
Has anyone played this yet? Based on what I’ve seen in game play videos so far this game looks lame af. The story and dialog and acting seems cheesy as heck, the characters and story don’t even seem to be Resident Evil anymore…some weird spinoff where it seems more Tim Burton than anything.
Like, how’d we go from RE2 and zombies and normal people with some crazy mutants to whatever this is? Giant fat man, 8 ft tall woman for some reason? Women made of flies? Main character that can apparently reattach a limb with zero surgery?
its like re7 but with worse story and it has more enemies, it turns into a straight up action game in the last third, tons and tons of enemies to shoot, also maps are less corridor like than the first game but not by much. If you liked the previous game meaning 7 and you thought “hmm this would be better if it was more of a action game” then you like it, if you want it to be like re2 remake meaning having some nonlinearity and puzzles you will be disappointed.
If you play the game you’ll see….but anyway it’s a moldy situation, something related to re7.Overall RE games are not about zombies but bio weapons of any form, but i get why you assumed that RE7 and Village got 180° turn from classics, from zombies to 8ft tall Vampires and werewolfs etc.
I have finished the game and it’s a good game altough with some minor pacing issues, that could be solved if the castle were not the 1° area u go to.
About te story and acting being cheesy, dude that IS what RE has always been. Same with the enemies, RE was never about zombies the games were about bio-weapons even in the 1° game zombies were just the most basic enemy u had too face spiders, dogs, sharks and the tyrant.
It seems to me that people that keep saying that RE were about zombies never did actually play an RE game. Also there is a explanation as too why he can reattach a limb with zero surgery, now as to wether it was a good one or not that is another thing but there is one.
I would argue that zombies make exactly as much sense as an 8 ft tall woman, or reattaching a limb without surgery.
ethan got some ethical hand…………..
