STALKER Fan Remake in Unreal Engine 4 gets new screenshots

Back in July 2020, we shared some screenshots from an upcoming fan remake of the first STALKER in Unreal Engine 4. And yesterday, Ivan_Sorce shared some brand new screenshots from it.

These latest screenshots showcase the first part of Cordon which appears to be a lot bigger than the original. The landscape uses 4K textures, tessellation, and an incredible amount of grass.

Ivan_Sorce has been working on this project for quite some time. We first reported on this fan remake in May 2019. Since then, the modder has been working on it and has not received any C&D letter from GSC GameWorld.

There is currently no ETA on when this STALKER Fan Remake in Unreal Engine 4 will release.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. am i the only one who doesnt like that weapon holding in modern shooters that the gun is held to the center of the screen?

    1. I hope so 😉 It’s more “natural” with the weapon model near the center of the eyesight – once you spend some time with real life guns you start to realize the completely centered viewmodels in Doom and Quake 1 actually made sense 😉
What I personally dislike is the size of the weapons – modern first person games seem to have giant models obscuring a lot of the screen. It was not an issue in older releases somehow.

  2. Why remake a game that will take you as long as making a new game when you can just make a new game inspired by this game and make some f**king money on top of that? 😀

    I am confusion.

    1. yea seems simple, yet no one in 2021 delievered game like that from 2007 still. Which is fine since Anomaly with modern mods exists, making it even harder to get close for any game with that amount of content now. Stalker 2 surely will be overshadowed by it

      1. Hey, as long as they allow for easy modding in Stalker 2 it will be alright. I’d love to see Anomaly 2 sometime down the line on a new engine looking all fresh.

      1. Nothing special regarding graphics, just AI Enhanced textures for weapons and skyboxes, a custom made reshade (including RTGI) and one mod for flora modification. You can find em at Moddb, except for the RT Reshade filter that is… And tbh, the reshade thing is doing all the heavylifting regarding visuals here, but in case you are still interested, here is my donwloaded mod list, all compatible with the newest 1.5.1 version

  3. It easy to recreate the envs, but the gameplay mechanics, AI, etc is the real challenge! Not sure what the point of this is, especially considering the amazing mods that exist for STALKER and still frequently updated.
