Detroit: Become Human & Beyond: Two Souls are available on Steam without Denuvo

Quantic Dream has just released Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls on the PC. Now what’s really interesting about these releases is that they do not feature the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. However, the Epic Games Store versions, which came out first, are still using it.

Quantic Dream has not announced whether it plans to remove Denuvo from the Epic Games Store releases of its games. As such, and if you boycotted these games for having Denuvo, you can finally purchase them. All three games come with a 10% discount right now on Steam.

As we’ve already reported, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls run smooth on a variety of PC configurations. On the other hand, Detroit: Become Human is a really demanding title. The game favors newer generation Intel CPUs, and requires powerful graphics cards.

Back in September 2019, Quantic Dream’s David Cage claimed that the reaction from the PC community has been tremendous. In August 2019, Quantic Dream also stated that it was happy with the PC sales of Heavy Rain.

Quantic Dream is currently working on multi-platform games that will release on the PC alongside the console versions. However, we don’t know whether these new games will be timed-exclusive on Epic Games Store. We also don’t know whether the team will use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech in its upcoming games.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Oh very interesting. John Papadopoulos can pirate them now like a true gamer.

Your Detroit Become Human analysis could use an update because the devs worked months on a performance patch, and now there’s another performance increase after drm removal.

    1. The people at Irdeto have been lying from the start about Denuvo. It does have an impact on performance because any program whether it’s Windows, an antivirus or Denuvo which is constantly running in the background and reporting back to Denuvo while running does eat up CPU cycles and some amount of RAM and some online bandwidth.

The effect is smaller in PCs that have a good CPU and at least 8 GB RAM but it’s still there.

What irks me the most is the Publishers that don’t remove Denuvo from their game even after the game is cracked. Denuvo becomes absolutely useless at that point and it’s nothing but a pointless leech.

      1. Let’s face it: everything may have an impact. Even sound playback may have an impact. Might as well play without sound if you want the absolute best performance.

        1. Yes but sounds and music are part of the game experience and imo a
necessary part. Once Denuvo is cracked it’s just a pointless parasite
that never served any purpose to the enjoyment of the game and it’s no longer protecting a game from being pirated anyway.

I don’t see the point in leaving Denuvo in a game after it’s cracked.

        2. Yes but sounds and music are part of the game experience and imo a necessary part. Once Denuvo is cracked it’s just a pointless parasite that serves no purpose to the enjoyment of the game.

      2. Yea, UBISoft is very guilty of that, they have games that game been cracked, been out for years and still have that bullshit in the games.

        1. It’s just senseless for a Publisher to leave Denuvo in their games after they have been cracked. The only purpose for Denuvo to begin with was to protect the game for a short while so that Publishers could increase initial sales for a short while and there’s no proof that even that works.

The vast majority of pirates can’t afford to buy the game so they just wait until the games gets cracked or they move on to something else.

I wonder what will happen if Denuvo does get rejected by Publishers as an unnecessary expense and the Denuvo servers get shut down for lack of income. For any Publisher that is too lazy to remove Denuvo after it’s been cracked then the game that people paid for will be unplayable.

      3. Genuinely curious, but is implementing Denuvo on your game a one time transcation or is it like some recurring payment thing?

I ask because companies lose aboslutely nothing by keeping Denuvo even if its cracked if they paid a one time fee.

        1. The last I heard is that it’s a one time fee but if the game does get cracked within a certain time then Denuvo gets nothing.

Publishers do lose something though by leaving Denuvo in the game even after it’s cracked. Some people won’t buy the game just because of that and they pirate the game because they are angry.

        2. It will be different for every business that seeks to add the protection to their product, otherwise the prices would be visible for everyone on irdeto’s website.

  2. Too bad these didn’t come to game pass. I have been using that as my lazy man’s gaming solution. I will likely buy Heavy Rain I have always kind of wanted to play through that one and I never cared to purchase the GrillStation 3. I’ll consider Detroit also.

    1. Heavy Rain is probably the best of the three. It has an attractive woman in it also that any normal man will appreciate.

    1. Haha ???, Dead Bro. Laughed so hard thanks for that. Been having one of those days and this brightened me up. Peace & Blessings

  3. Update: 3 Games updating now in Epic Store

    HeavyRain…18Gb!!! ¿?¿?

    20mg…waiting 😉
