Microsoft has released a new set of beautiful screenshots from the Alpha phase of Flight Simulator. These screenshots showcase the amazing, and sometimes next-generation – graphics that this upcoming flight sim will feature.
Going into more details, these screenshots come from the game’s latest Alpha version. As we can see, they showcase some of its environments, cities and airplanes. They also show off some of its effects, like the Volumetric Clouds and the Sun Lights.
Kudos to Flight Simulator members SimTom112, WildestHawk4431, Tomlaut1980, pilotskcx, LeadoffJoker47, WhiteLight506, DampfGepard9514, Bonham Five, Batlle777 and FreakDragonfly5 for capturing these screenshots.
In Microsoft Flight Simulator, players will be able to fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world. Players will also be able to create their flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet. Furthermore, the game will have day/night environments, as well as challenging weather conditions. Also note that while there is a rumour about the game supporting Ray Tracing, these screenshots show traditional rasterized graphics.
There is currently no ETA on when this flight sim game will come out. However, we’ll be sure to keep you posted about its progress. Until then, enjoy the following screenshots!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. It’s beautiful, yes, but how much data will it use to stream all those assets?
After the year 2005, I stopped gaming on pc, and went 100% console. I was tired of perpetually having to upgrade the hardware, in order tho be able to play the latest titles, with the best graphics as possible.
Just bought the most expensive graphic card ? Sorry, but on these 8 recent games, you will have to drop your graphics to very high or high, will have to put almost everything between low and mid, your AA will have to be a simple 2x, will have to decrease this, decrease that…
A terrible fight and race, that nobody ever wins, excepting nvidia or Ati….
But for this freaking game, I’m ready to buy a powerful pc, just to be able to play it. Currently buying components 1 by one, and when the ryzen 4000 series and the new zen graphic cards will be available, by October 2020, I will then buy the m.2 pci4 card, to enjoy those 5000mb/s read and write speed, along the overkill 4950x and a good graphic card.
I want to play FS 2000, with the most incredible graphics as possible, on a 34″ or bigger monitor. This game will be the first real revolution in graphics.
Unless they also release it on the xbox series x, and that version is REALLY close to a all-ultra pc equivalent!
Things are a lot different now for one at times its hard for me to even notice medium vs ultra in a lot of games. 2 i owned the gtx 1080 and its been doing great for almost 4 years now.
Couldn’t agree more. I’m a dedicated PC gamer and enthusiast, but keeping up with technology, especially in this field, is almost impossible. And that’s what makes it kinda exhausting and not that satisfying sometimes.
I built the core my PC 6 years ago with an i5 4670k and gtx 970. That lasted me 4 years and then I upgraded to a 1080ti. Then about a year and a half ago I upgraded to an i7 4790k. Selling the old parts along the way and buying used.
In total, exluding ssds I’ve probably spent about $1400 on pc parts for 6 years of gaming. Not too bad when you consider console games are usually $50+ each and I only buy games that I feel deserve the money if I don’t p1rate them.
Before that I probably spent over $1500 during the X360/PS3 generation to play far less games with worse graphics and gameplay. Still able to play most games at High graphics, 1440p, 100+fps. 2 or 3 times better than PS4 Pro.
But that is essentially what the consoles have done. As time went on, 30 fps became the norm as did 900p and FXAA. RDR2 is a great example of this. The game has great textures and almost equivalent post processing effects as the PC. But in turn, they limited resolution, frame rate and other settings. The only difference with PC and Console is you don’t see the settings menu or what is reduced on console. Its done for you. Personally i prefer the choice pc gives you. I personally prefer 4K30fps to 1080p60fps for example. I know the PS4 Pro offered this option some titles, But its still pretty limited.
I’m waiting for this release to build my next rig. Triple monitors with flight controls will be part of that build. Oh yes!
