  1. I was thinking the same with MW1 remaster, but it looked better after release nonetheless, lets just pray they’ll not remove “No Russian” as you said in a another article…
The MP would be trash for sure, it was trash on PC back then and it has no chance to be better now, i read somewhere that the remaster won’t include the MP anyway…

    1. i have been saying this for years the detail mw2 had due to art direction was amazing, you look at the ump and when you fire it a cord tied on it jumps back and fourth, when you fire the dragunov the cover for the scope also jumps back and fourth, the environment is pretty detailed for the time as well. Games didnt have this kind of attention to detail till far cry 3 in 2012 and didnt became standard till 2015.

Battlefield at the time looked so empty and dull.

      1. If you’re talking about BFBC2, it was compensating with destructible environments, better sound design and larger levels, MW2 had better models, anims, OST and set pieces tho

    2. I agree but there’s room from improvements, the rocks in this screen for example can benefit from tesselation, same thing for the snow particles that are just 2D sprites, the night level in this video for example show better rain particles, that even react to environmental lighting, anyway, wait for a better video

      1. I think it will be added as DLC to MW, with a stand-alone arriving à a later date, even if it’s 30/40 it has a big fanbase and they’re also counting on the nostalgia effect i guess, but you’re right, this have to be 20 bucks max to be a decent deal, it’s a 5h linear campaign with 0 replayability…

        1. Even at 20 bucks, you still find a better product. Like Witcher 3. 15 bucks, GOTY edition, more than 200 hours of content. But here we’re talking about Call Of Duty fans. They would eat anything from this franchise.

          1. I agree, and we’re talking about one of the best SP of the series, it would sell well even at 30/40, i’ll wait one year or more for a good sale personally, hoping it will be on Steam and not in Blizzass Launcher

          1. Same here, maybe be on sale for les than 10, otherwise as you said, OG is just fine

  2. This is using the same engine as the COD4 Remaster, based on the old 2013 Ghosts game.
This is looking like a lot of straight copy pasted assets from original game.

  3. Not a shred of originality left in this now pathetic industry. Why do the lemmings keep buying these damn remake/remasters, they’ll just keep on churning them out.

    1. it was in many ways similar to DOOM2016 and while I finished and enjoyed it, I I think I’m starting to realise that this might not be my cup of tea. a bit too shallow for me. but it did deliver on the promises it made, namely, the “ripping and tearing”. DOOM3 is more my style.

      1. What ypu are describing here is achievable via a mod or patch for DOOM2016. I didn’t see much evolution in terms of level design, the platforming in particular feels forced. Weapon/enemy variety and the visuals were the obvious progress here but not enough to justify another entry. It’s a great game and by no means am I trying to disparage their work but It’s not DOOM2, it’s Eternal… A mod at best.

        1. the complaints regarding the platforming sections are valid. those sections are simply too boring and I completely agree with them. I heard myself sigh every time I reached one of them.

DOOM Eternal is worthy of praise for the improvements it made, but if failed to introduce any interesting new mechanics to deserve to be called a true step up from the previous game.

the grenades? the platforming? the dash? these already existed in the genre. you should not make a sequel unless you have something quite new and unique that has not been done before otherwise what you’re doing is DLC. I expected something truly new besides petty changes. something more in line with driving and customising a car to kill demons with, or something akin to the hovering ability of the Revenant which the game featured for like 5 minutes.

also, again what you’re describing with the verticality here is at best ‘map editing’.

and lay off the cut-and-dried argument of “people bad at the game can’t handle more” that Souls fans use to justify their waste of time and to disparage others’ experience of the game to make themselves look better, you don’t! it is the least logical approach you want to take to proving your point. I played the game on the penultimate difficulty and I enjoyed it a bit, but when a game feels like ‘work’ after a while, that means it has ceased interesting you. you might like more of the same with this game. I don’t.
I love pizza but every night? no thanks

Long story short, DOOM ETERNAL is a fine game but it is not evolutionary let alone revolutionary, so it shouldn’t be described as such.

          1. You lost me at “I don’t believe you one bit”
So why should I even bother?
Respect the discussion instead of calling people liars.

            Have a nice day

    2. Also, Half-Life: Alyx is literally that game changer that gambled on trying something completely new on a niche platform. But obviously people don’t get it and just want the same ol’ same experience. For me it’s rejuvenating my love for gaming.

      1. With all the respect i have for people that are genuinely not interested in VR or just can’t afford it, i think HLA is mostly bashed by frustrated people

        1. True. It’s really one of those cases where you just wouldn’t get it until you try it out for yourself. I have friends who pretty much stopped gaming altogether but are taking interest in VR after seeing some samples from Alyx.

I think it’ll take a while but people will slowly change their perception of how they see the game and VR in general. If they can experience the game in the near future without needing VR through the use of mods then great. But from my personal experience it would be such a downgrade. And I haven’t even gotten to the main combat yet with the Combines.

      2. Yeah, even for me the price was way too steep but I decided to go for it in the end. It’s essentially like buying a new monitor. Hopefully after 2 years or so it’ll become affordable for the masses. Either way I’m sure the modding community will alleviate that issue real soon and make it accessible for non-VR players.

  4. This should be free for the original owners. I liked MW2, and i bought it on Steam, but i won’t pay 30-40 euro for the same product.

    1. Its a great deal if you never owned the non remaster version.. sadly most people that care do, so this is kind of useless to us indeed. If they MAYBE lower the price for everyone that already owns it? Maybe, but ye, i’m in the same boat as you.

  5. Maybe some improved lighting and textures, but the graphic different is not as big as in the MW1 remaster, which was more of a remake. This looks more like a typical remaster, with a few things barely improved.

    1. Right now the video is low res, and still showing improved textures, particles, models and way better lighting, a comparison video will be more convincing tho, i had the same effect with MW1 Remaster, comparing it to my memories directly, it felt the exact same

      1. way better lighting? You joking right look at the oil rig when they lift that guy up, you can see the grenades having awful lighting around them. Looks like it came out from last gen.

        1. Check the night level, and the brazilian one, it’s obvious you didn’t saw OG MW2 for a while lol, also wait for a better video

          1. yes original lighting looks awful but the improvement is not up to par with modern warfare.

          2. remasters are not exactly developing games from scratch. so it figures

unless you’re referring to MW Remastered in which case I think they look quite similar with MW2R being slightly more vibrant than MW1R

  6. Why are they doing this though? Do they want to divide the playerbase? If they’re doing a remaster of MW2 then why make a new Black Ops game for this October?

  7. I was expecting MW 2019 graphics with this remaster, I’m so disappointed. It looks barely better than the original MW2 which was my favorite CoD Game excelente story and soundtrack. It looks like 10 to 20% better maybe? this sucks 🙁

  8. I thought this would be shipped with BO5 like MW1R did. What’s the point of releasing this now?
Also “remaster” means ported to next-gen consoles from high PC settings.

  9. “Furthermore, COW: MW2 Remastered will have the classic…”

These animal games are getting out of hand. First is that goose shiet, now cows!
    FML!
