Yesterday, we informed you about the possibility of DLSS 2.0 coming to CONTROL and Mechwarrior 5. And today we are happy to report that this will indeed happen. NVIDIA has just announced that both CONTROL and Mechwarrior 5 will officially support this new DLSS technique.
In case you weren’t aware of, DLSS 2.0 offers image quality comparable to native resolution while rendering only one quarter to one half of the pixels. It employs new temporal feedback techniques for sharper image details and improved stability from frame to frame.
DLSS 2.0 uses a new AI network more efficiently, using Tensor Cores to execute 2X faster than the original DLSS. This improves frame rates and eliminates previous limitations on which GPUs, settings, and resolutions could be enabled.
Moreover, and what’s really important in our opinion, DLSS 2.0 trains using non-game-specific content, delivering a generalized network that works across games. This means faster game integrations, and ultimately more DLSS games. So yeah, hopefully we’ll see more games with DLSS 2.0 in the future.
In order to showcase the visual improvements, NVIDIA has shared the following comparison screenshots and videos.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Excellent.
Sony: We have implemented in PS5 the most fast SSD in the world!
MS: Our console has 12TF capable GPU!
Nvidia: Now get the lead out!
You mean:
Nvidia: Now get the wallet out.
Still looks like a bad sharpening filter.
The one shot that shows DLSS off still looks best to me.
Having tried DLSS 2.0 on the new Wolfenstein i have to say it’s bloody brilliant. At 4k (can’t speak about using other res monitors) the performance mode looks no diff to the higher DLSS options and compared to native 4k With AA and some minor sharpening at 0.5 it looks no diff. No longer does it look like an oil painting with sh**ty artifacts. It’s more like a PS4 pro 1st party upscaled game from 1800p or better. In the new wolf game with RTX it literally doubled or more the fps for no visual compromise. If DLSS 2.0 becomes a NCP option for all games i will be really happy. Playing wolf with RTX And max settimgs at 4k over 100fps is just superb. Long live DLSS 2.0 from someone who thought DLSS 1.0 looked the worst thing ever invented.
We live in a new age. Hopefully we see faster and more widespread adoption of this tech.
Looks very impressive!
Well designed Deep Learning algorithms can do some great magic…
