Doom Eternal-2

Doom Eternal may be cracked on day-1, Bethesda added non-Denuvo version in Bethesda Store release

Okay everyone, I’m getting RAGE 2 vibes right now. As we’ve already reported, the Steam version of Doom Eternal uses the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. However, it appears that Bethesda has done it again. Similarly to RAGE 2, there is a non-Denuvo executable file in its Bethesda Store version.

Now while this non-Denuvo executable file was available by default in RAGE 2, in Doom Eternal you’ll have to replace the default with the new one. This non-Denuvo executable file is located inside the “Doom Eternal/original” folder.

The Denuvo version of the Doom Eternal executable file is 450MB, whereas the non-Denuvo version is 67MB. According to reports, by replacing the files you can start and play the game’s single-player campaign mode.

Naturally, this opens up the doors to crackers who will now be able to crack the game on launch day. Thus, it remains to be seen whether Bethesda will remove Denuvo from the Steam version. Let’s not forget that this is exactly what happened with RAGE 2.

Stay tuned for more!

    1. The idiots cracked their own games YET AGAIN. On Their own platform, it doesn’t get any better than that.

      1. Whatever the f*ck happened, i’m really glad they failed, again !! I hate them so much, fortunately Doom is a greater franchise than the whole Bethesda publishing, studios and IPs, that’s why they’ll never dare to mess with it

          1. I love Quake too, but it’s inconsistent compared to Doom, the 1st was legendary and is by far my favorite, the second was good but miles behind Q1, the 3rd is MP only and i’m not interested in it anymore, the 4th is ok and Champions is sh*t
But every Doom game is good on it own, even Doom 3 which is clearly the black sheep is enjoyable with some gunplay mods
I dream of a new SP Quake with id Tech 7 engine and Q1 aesthetics, that would be awesome

        1. I don’t care about the skins, i don’t use them, the 3rd person cutscenes are ALL skippable, i prefer this to the forced 1st person narrative sections of Doom 2016, as for the Bethesda account, i did more annoying things to play less enjoyable games…
As for the rest i don’t agree, Doom Eternal is clearly a step forward to the franchise and maybe to the FPS genre as a whole, do yourself a favor a go play it

          1. These aren’t facts man, this is your opinion and a pretty unpopular one and i disagree with, just as you disagree with mine, and it’s fine
“Why bother creating a story and make it skippable”
That’s the goal, giving the option to the player if he wants to know more or just want to shoot things, that’s how narratives should be in all games except for the 100% story driven games, i’ll not skip them for a first playthrough, but sure i’ll skip them for a second one, when i want to replay some Doom 2016 levels just for fun i’m forced to watch those HL2 wannabe narrative sections and that’s annoying as hell, just like Max Payne 3, the game is fun and has incredibly satisfying gunplay, but i was choked when i wanted to replay some levels and found out that the cutscenes are still forced even in arcade modes, everytime i want to shoot some mobs for fun i give up as soon as i remember the cutscenes

      2. It’s not that they “cracked” their own software. If you look back regarding DOOM 2016, there was stipulation with Denuvo, there actually still is in all their contracts with dev’s/pub’s where if the software is cracked within a period of time, they will refund the company. Otherwise if it doesn’t get cracked in that window, then in Bethesda’s case, they would release the DRM free variant. That’s likely what happened here, they already had that version ready, and odd’s are, they goofed and provided it in their launcher when it should have been the Denuvo version. There really is no telling, but the contract bit is legit.

    2. Unfortunately, it just turned out to be a demo. No one can get passed level 3 on the “”cracked”” version.

  1. we need a legit demo for this so we can test it without pirate it, i need to see how it work before i buy.

      1. No excuse needed, f*k Bethesda for a million different reasons, and f*k Denuvo. Yar me maties.

        1. No, they are inconveniencing
and causing potential problems to the people who gave them money in a futile attempt of combating the boogyman that is piracy. People that dont want to or cant buy it don’t dish out 60$ if the crack is not there on day1.

  2. This is just a marketing strategy. People who want to pirate the game would never have bought it anyway. This way they can play the game and tell everyone who great it is and basically do free advertisement to people who might actually buy it and needed that little push.

    1. That’s bullshit, i buy every single game i pirate (once is in a sale and i liked said game, if not i don’t even bother obviously)

    2. WUT ? So what the point of using Denuvo then ?? Which cost more than 150000$ for the implementation

    3. if this game did not have denuvo and bethesda.net, I would have bought it like i did with every other game I have across gog and steam. these companies wanna bog their sh*t down with anti-consumer drm then no sh*t I’m “illegally” downloading a version of the game with that sh*t removed.

    4. Honestly, I agree. For people (myself included) with low to even moderate income buying games new on release is kinda out of the question with VERY rare exceptions (like when you’ve been waiting for a game from a series you absolutely love for 5+ years to come out or when you know a certain game is gonna last you years worth of playing).

So yeah, I would say it’s not even necessarily price in and of itself but rather VALUE of a game. I would never buy a play-through-it-once-and-never-again type of game for full price. That’s just silly to me because the value provided considering the price is just not there.

  3. Is not a crack per se, just more Bethesda incompetence…they can’t even release games properly now (i’m grateful for the DRM free exe tho)

  4. Who cares, really? Denuvo doesn’t protect s**t from anyone. Game will sell well regardless. So tired of this garbage DRM which will inevitably cause problems in the future.

    1. This is hoax, friend of mine finished it.
I’ll play later, but will hardly go till lvl 3.
Not my kind of game anymore.

  5. Haha, they did it again. I love those “”useful idiots”. Someone Over at Bethesda don’t quite agree with this new world order of NOT OWNING SCHITT.

  6. Denuvo is a cancer to the Gaming community. Not sure why the devs and publishers fail to understand this point of view.

We don’t need such kind of intrusive DRM in the first place. If a game is good then it’s obviously going to sell well, and pirates are going to be pirate the game, regardless of whether the Game features this so-called DENUVO DRM.

It sucks pretty bad, TBH. They want to protect their sales, which obviously any publisher/dev would want to, but using DENUVO to achieve this is a slap on the face of the Gaming community.

Only LEGIT customers have to suffer and pay the full price. Pirates will always enjoy the full game, devoid of this online-only feature called Denuvo DRM, free from stutters and Lag as well, IF any.

I’m reluctant to support the devs who are using this anti-tamper TECH, but I really want to play this Game, DOOM ETERNAL that is. I have not yet decided whether to indeed BUY this game right now, or wait for a cracked version which hopefully should come out soon. I don’t support piracy though.

I love playing First-person shooters, so I’m a bit helpless and desperate at least in the case of DOOM ETERNAL. Will Bethesda remove DENUVO from this game, once it is cracked ? I think only time will tell.

I’m a bit reluctant to give my money to Bethesda/ID right now. This game looks good and fun to play though. If they remove DENUVO, then I will surely buy it soon.

  7. Bethesda is a company I’ll never buy from. My a*s has been chapped too many times with their Fallout franchise. Piracy FTW.

  8. “The Denuvo version of the Doom Eternal executable file is 450MB, whereas the non-Denuvo version is 67MB”

    big OOOF

  9. pirates say it crashes on mission 3 with some easter egg and tells you to make a bethesda account on something.

Still easier to crack than a denuvo exe.

  10. Doom is a game that I grew up with all the way back in 1993. I have bought all the Doom games to date (as I have for all the other games that I own). I can understand Denuvo being implemented in order to combat piracy – even though this DRM is woeful for us legit users. That being said, it is so unfair to paying customers when s**t like this happens. I mean this is a costly AAA title which we spend our hard earned cash on.

  11. Actually, the non drm version has a token that is sent to your pc though the login. that token has something to do with how the game works from my understanding.
