Kylotonn Games is working on the next Test Drive Unlimited game

It appears that a new Test Drive Unlimited game is currently under development. As Nacon’s Benoit Clerc revealed, Kylotonn Games is currently working on the next part in the Test Drive Unlimited series.

As Benoit Clerc told VentureBeat:

“The first company is KT Racing, Kylotonn. They’re based in Paris and Lyon, and they are specialized in racing. They’re doing off-road racing with WRC (World Championship Rally), and they’re doing two-wheel racing with Isle of Man TT. Moreover, they’re currently working on our biggest project by far, which is the next Test Drive Unlimited game.”

Test Drive Unlimited was an open-world racing that came out on X360, PS3 and PC. It was one of the first open-world racing games, and was a truly amazing experience back in 2006. The game featured over 125 licensed sports cars and motorcycles. It also had around 1,000 miles (1,600 km) of roads and highways.

A sequel came out in 2011, featuring a variety of roads on the island of Oahu, which returns from the first game, and the new island Ibiza.

There is currently no ETA on when this new Test Drive Unlimited game will come out!

  1. Would be cool to have a open world simarcade that is not a “game as service”, looking forward to this.

      1. All cars in Ubisoft games handle like crap (The Crew, WatchDogs, Wildlands)., agree..i dunno why you bring that up when i didnt even mentioned it.

        1. you said “simarcade” and “games as a service” and the crew poped up in my mind.

Reminder that these people made the driver games.

          1. Ah, for sure, I was thinking about Forza Horizon and the last NFS games, but the Crew totally applies.
There’s a fanmade Driver game in the making “The Driver Syndicate”, the alpha is looking pretty good by the way.

  2. if you havent played test drive unlimited with car mods you should, it has by far the largest collection of cars i have ever seen.

  3. TDU was great but same cant be said for the other games they made. It was like an open world sim racer which is also what made it so unique at the time, this is also before Forza Horizon was a thing.
I hope this means they are going back to their roots and not just rebranding The Crew 3 as TDU 3.

  4. If this somehow lives up to the previous entries, and expands on them in the right way, then this is certainly something to look forward to.

  5. Take all gameplay staff from TDU2 and make car physics like in asseto corsa with graphics like Project Cars 2. Add some live to the cities and this game will be at least 9/10.

          1. I like that game a lot and the tuning and visual customization is very nice in that game. It is basically a proper Fast & Furious game about street racing like in the first 2 movies.

  6. I hope it will be nothing like TDU2. They literally made that game for kids under 12 years. And VR is a must for TDU3

  7. It has pretty serious contender now, Forza Horizon series. It might sell well on PS4 though. They really have to up their game to be a Multiplatform success. I have not played Horizon 4 yet but i still start up 3 sometimes.
