Lost Souls V2.0 is an overhaul mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, available now for download

DimitriShumski has released a brand new version of his Lost Souls overhaul mod for the first STALKER game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Lost Souls Version 2.0 aims to improve the game visually and also make it slightly more hardcore. However, the mod also tries to keep the essential STALKER experience intact.

Going into more details, version 2.0 adds a new Main Menu Background and Options Tab. It also brings sharper HD Textures for Structures, Vehicles, Props and Decals, as well as sharper HD Textures for All Nature with an enhanced Autumn Feeling. Furthermore, players will find new skies and lightning, as well as slightly improved weather effects.

Furthermore, there are new Textures for all guns (OWR3 Mod), HD NPC Models, and sharper and more detailed textures for all mutants. A more powerful flashlight is also present, alongside light HUD with new visuals.

It’s also worth noting that there are new Custom Inventory Icons for all consumables and outfits, and a dynamic HUD (Dynamic Gasmask Overlay, Bleeding Textures).

Regarding its gameplay tweaks and improvements, Lost Souls Version 2.0 reduces Player Immunities, meaning that the player gets hurt much easier now. It also reduces Player Walking and Running Speed in order to offer a more realistic experience. The mod also reworks the loot and economy systems. It also slightly improves accuracy and damage.

You can download S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl Lost Souls Version 2.0 from here.

Have fun!

  1. Can anybody tell what would br the “best” stalker mod out there? A mod that changes and improves the vanilla game.

    1. This one is good for an improved vanilla experience, it improves all the game’s textures and models, makes the game a bit more difficult and realistic (weapon holster when using consumables, less rewarding loot…) but keeps all the quests, weapons, items, enemies and storyline of the original game, if you’re new to the series or just want an improved game for a second playthrough, i recommend this one to begin with. There are 2 alternatives for an improved vanilla experience, Autumn Aurora and STALKER Complete, the first uses exaggerated post FX and the second simplifies some game mechanics, i recommend the second if you want a softer experience, even though i think you have to suffer to appreciate a STALKER game
