Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘Something’s brewing’ teaser

Larian Studios recently released a teaser clip for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Twitter. The short video starts with a quote from Volothamp Geddarm from the old games, who says, “There’ve been many developments since last you were in Baldur’s Gate, my friend. It’s time to return”.

In the clip we see some full body motion capture, with a guy wielding a sword and also some facial motion capture performed by an actress I’m guessing. We can see a developer working on animations if I am not mistaken and we also see someone taking pictures of a lovely beach. Which I am guessing will probably be in the game in some way.

Below the tagline ‘Something’s brewing’ we can see a date, February 27th of 2020. Right now we have no further information of what exactly will happen on that specific date. Maybe another trailer? Either way we will make sure to let you know.

Below you can watch the teaser.

    1. Well noticed! Or could be a character who already visited the city once. Either way, i prefer your version… as it’d make sense a Child of Bhaal could become immune to the Illithid parasitism.

      1. Whoever it is, I’d be willing to bet there will be a ton of characters and villains from the new D&D campaigns and gamesets recently released.

My biggest fear is that Larian tries to make it so much like a tabeltop game it loses some of the classic crpg flavor.

    1. 100% this, I agree. Man I feel like the game is going to own and be quality just like their Divinity Sin series.

I love it if they tried the ARPG genera next(with Divinity) or make a new follow up to Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga. Honestly I feel either one would be awesome.

  1. Yea, there’s no way that’s a release date, as we don’t even know what combat system it will be using. That’s def a placeholder for yet another most likely CGI only trailer with no discernible glimpses of actual gameplay.

Hell, it could just be the date they announce whether it’s RTwP or Turn Based… though it’s unlikely as they’d be wise to get as many pre-orders on record as they can before that polarizing announcement.

  2. I expect another appearence of Noober, Neeber or… whatever in this game too. Man, how much I wanted to murder that guy in cold blood!
