After its initial release on the consoles in September of last year, the expansion for Monster Hunter World has finally released yesterday for PC, along with Patch 10.12.00. Unfortunately Iceborne seems to have serious optimization issues.
Right now the game’s rating on Steam is ‘Mostly Negative’. Most of the negative reviews express disappointment regarding the game’s performance. Even so, the number of players has been tripled since December, meaning numerous people were excited for the release of Iceborne.
You can check the Steam numbers here.
Lastly, we should note that Capcom is aware of the performance issues. The team is currently looking into them, so hopefully it will release a performance patch soon.
[PC/Steam] We are aware of performance issues that have been reported, and are currently investigating them.
If you have been experiencing any issues with the PC version, please contact Capcom Support and be ready to share more info on your system: https://t.co/qf4EFm6HJK

Monster Hunter World Iceborne is available now on Steam.
Thanks GamingBolt.
Chris was born in the early 80’s along with the very birth of home gaming. After spending many maaany drachmas on arcades, his father decided to buy him a PC instead of going bankrupt. He lived through the advancing and development of the gaming industry, having played TONS of games on all platforms. He is always honest and will never hesitate to give his true opinion on a game no matter what. Loves stealth games and dislikes microtsansactions, DLC and pre-ordering…who doesn’t after all?!

I can verify that this is true and that Chris Kuntouras is posting a rare article in which he is not completely full of crap. Also it’s deleting a fair amount of people’s saves, online and local, perhaps either due to mods or also people who haven’t touched the game in a long time and their save file never went through a conversion.. or something possible similar to that.
“Capcom aware of performance issues”
So there was no Q&A at all… they could avoid this but nah, no testing/minimal and press compile lol
People on other forums don’t want to hear it, but I honestly believe the performance problems are a result of improper Denuvo implementation. Why? Because everyone experiencing performance issues (myself included) are experiencing CONSTANT 100% cpu calls during the game. Frame drops don’t have anything to do with the graphics on screen. It’s just sporadic drops even doing nothing. I had 60 FPS locked before (would hit mid 50s very rarely in certain heavy scenes). Now the exact same levels, same assets, same missions, perform much worse. They likely add DRM last and don’t do much testing in house with Denuvo locked executables
MT framework engine have a good optimization when used by resident evil games. I wonder why they cant do the same with Monster Hunter?
MH on PC was first game of The MH dev team
MT Frameworks / RE Regine are two different engines…
FYI,MT framework engine used by RE5+6, monster hunter and dragon dogma. And i know RE engine is capcom next gen engine to replace dated MT framework and is used by RE7+RE2 remake and DMC5…
And yeah I know what games the MT engine is used it… Don’t need a FYI about that 😀

according to nexus the reason it runs this bad is because they encrypted the files and the game is decrypting them when needed which puts a strain on your pc. Why? so modders cant mod the game.
and also save files might get corrupted
Weebs love these games so Capcom can optimize their games in an ubisoftian manner and it wouldn’t matter
Must have something to do with the expansion. Because for me the main game runs good if not better than on initial release of the core game. I will get the expansion once they fix whatever issues they are having.
Shame the issues arent more widespread; this way crapcom will keep being crapcom and their sales wont suffer. Classic AAA scummery
They had 6 months to figure out performance issues on their timed console exclusive and still drop this turd.. Disappointing Capcom disappointing..
