Warframe The Old Blood Update is now available on the PC, brings major upgrades to melee combat

Digital Extremes has released a new update for Warframe. According to the press release, The Old Blood introduces the Kuva Lich and a brand-new Nemesis-like game system. It also debuts the 42nd Warframe, the insatiable Grendel.

Moreover, this patch ties in a meaty upgrade to Melee Combat, with hundreds of buffed/re-balanced weapons, mid-air melee attacks (juggles), improved combos, and more. It also reworks two classic Warframes, Ember and Vauban, for modern audiences.

Going into more details, the much-anticipated debut of the Kuva Lich challenges veteran players with a new Nemesis-like game system.

“As players encounter and re-encounter their evolving nemesis, the Kuva Lich amasses resources, territory, and allies that will alter their next encounter, whether planetside or, when Empyrean launches, aboard a deep space warship. Use the new Parazon, the hidden blade of the Tenno, to confront and kill the Kuva Lich.”

On the other hand, Tenno will experience substantial upgrades to the melee combat system with “Melee Changes: Phase 2”. This overhaul streamlines and deepens Warframe’s lightning fast melee combat. At the same time, it bolsters hundreds of weapons with substantial buffs and re-balanced stats to empower more brutal, devastating close quarter combat. These upgrades also feature a reworked Combo System that makes initiating, chaining and ending combos seamless and intuitive. They also add new Heavy Attacks to lift, juggle and pummel enemies in air.

Enjoy!

  1. And they fuq’d it all up. Melee combo system is a Joke now. Jesus christs, All digital Extremes do is rework the game into casualness over and over again. To a point where the game has no soul and its gutted to schitts. RIP Warframe. If you thought this game was terrible before, oh boy…………….

  2. Off-topic:

For those playing The Outer Worlds and who cannot stomach the game’s awful oversaturated colours then I highly recommend this ReShade profile –

    Neutral LUT – nexusmods(dot)com/theouterworlds/mods/16

Unlike other ReShade profiles this one doesn’t look strange because it doesn’t remove things. It’s a simple yet highly effective LUT change so it carries no performance penalty either.

It works with the EGS and therefore also the CODEX versions of the game. Windows 10 Store UWP version doesn’t allow ReShade.

    1. “Windows 10 Store UWP version doesn’t allow ReShade”, that’s because you cant even find the files to begin with and when you do, they can’t be injected. yet still all you see are people copy and pasting crap about how you should get gamepass. Everyone was so anti-UWP and now all of sudden cause of this 5 dollar gamepass which clearly wont last, everyone is swallowing garbage. The modern gamer is a STRAIGHT PUZZY!!!

        1. Oh I was with Timothy Sweeney when he called Microsoft out 5 years ago for UWP and their ecosystem within an ecosystem. Even downloaded the epic client right away in show of support. Even played his games (Paragon) that I was no fan of the genre, in show of support. Then 2018 happened and as soon as Timothy Sweeney got that Fortnite money in 2018 he became the exact same thing he criticized Microsoft for. Robo, I know we’ve had our differences but now you know why We All hate Tencent Timmy. So with all due respect, Sweeney can go Fuq Himself. I’m DRM-Free GoG FuqBoy Fo’Lyfe. I’m not about to escape the Steam Prison to go sign up for the Tencent Prison, No Thanks Robo.

          1. Haha, love it man. Everytime i see that word “excellent”, i feel proud that someone is taking it back from Robo-fernando. Robo has appropriated that word to dead. Thanks man ?

  3. Is the new story expansion out yet ? The one after the Umbra story. That’s the only Warframe content I’m interested in playing. The grind doesn’t appeal to me since there’s no (worth playing) pvp or challenging end game content to work towards.

    1. how on earth do you play those “Story” parts exactly? I tried playing this game multiple times over the years and it was endless repetitive grinding that went nowhere.

      1. Just follow the quests. You’ll eventually get to the story. I think you only get to it after 5 or 10 hours. Don’t remember exactly.

        1. mate last time i played it it did not have a large spaceship to explore but a small one and there was no open world. I have played for like 47 hours.

          1. I started playing in 2017, just before their first open world map released and it had the story parts.
