Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2019 trailer confirms Keanu Reeves being present in the game, release date announced

CD Projekt RED has released the E3 2019 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. This trailer basically showcases a cut-scene from the game, giving you a glimpse at the game’s story. Furthermore, it also reveals that Keanu Reeves will be in the game, as well as the game’s release date.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be a first-person open world, narrative-driven role-playing game set in the universe of the classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

The game promises to feature dozens of hours of main story arc quests and many more of additional activities. Players will experience all of it entirely through V’s eyes, with an interactive dialogue system that gives them greater narrative agency.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be powered by the next iteration of the RED Engine, called REDengine 4, and targets current-gen platforms.

CD Projekt RED has also announced that the game will come out on April 16th, 2020.

Enjoy!

  1. I found it quite funny how in chat nobody seemed to realise this was CG. There was a small gameplay bit after lol.

  2. Umm i think april 2020 is to soon.
I think this trailer has worse graphic quality than the first one, this trailer is all at night and that may influence, but I do not know, it did not seem so good.

      1. Yes, in the live conference I had much less quality, I imagine that by streaming, this video looks much better

        1. We’ll see for certain if some of the more extended gameplay footage surfaces but if gameplay does look worse then all the more proof to the Glassdoor reviews and to the notion that the Augusts 2018 footage was a mere vertical slice.

          1. I said gameplay but I really meant the visuals.
Textures look lower res and models lower poly to what they showed.

    1. It’s actually more than due if you would have followed the development cycle.
The game is actually fully playable from start to finish since August 2018, as stated by producer Richard Borzymowskiin in a post Gamescom interview.

  3. wow nighttime looks good, wow i cant believe those are in game graphics….WAIT A MINUTE THIS IS A CGI CUTSCENE, WHERE IS THE GAMEPLAY?

Wtf, let me guess journalists are gonna see the game and we get this trailer, fuuuu cdprojekt.

  4. Apparently there is some gameplay when keanu reeves speak, graphics look like the old trailers, there is a woman that looks like the one from syndicate, yes that fps reboot. Also you got some energy whip and a bike.

  5. I like Keanu but damn, i cant imagine the downgrade and all the cut content just to pay his check….priorities CDPR..

    1. Agreed. I lke him as well but I’d prefer the game having no real-life celebs. David Beckham’s as some Ukranian cossack in The Witcher 3 was distracting enough. It just ruins the whole immersion.

      1. ” and no interest in popular stuff pays out time and time again.”
thats the dumbest thing I have read in a couple weeks. No, you don’t need to be be plugged into everything 100% of the time, but knowing whats going on around you in the world is probably wise. How does it pay off if you dont know who it is and you have to ask the intnernt who one of the top 3 most famous athletes is of last 2000s is. You come off as a hermit.

      2. You probably didn’t follow soccer (European football) in the 90s. P.S. How about many other pop culture references in TW3 i.e. Harry Potter, Madonna’s song lyrics, Pulp Fiction dialog etc.?

        1. Now you’re thinking that i’m an ignoramus

I’m not really but your Witcher 3 and overall CDPR fanboyism make me suspicious.

I can’t stand soccer and H_Potter. Madonna has only one album that i like (“Ray Of Light”)

I used to love soccer as a kid because that’s literelly all we’d do in our spare time on our summer holidays when we were off from school. Becks is still huge in Europe.

I don’t like Harry Potter one bit but the Hearts Of Stone expansion features a certain Goblet (Of Fire).

As far as Madonna goes she was inescapeable in the late 80s-early 90s.

I love Tarkovsky, Joss Whedon, the 2 Davids (Lynch & Cronenberg), J.S.Bach, Queensryche, Allan Holdsworth & Guthrie Govan, Marc Dacascos & Mike Matthews, and many many more.

Mark Dacascos is a weird choice to be lumped in with the rest of those names. Van Damme or Seagal would make as much sense as he does in that list.

i never quite understood the hype around Pulp Fiction (i generally find Tarantino annoying).

If you don’t get it then you don’t get it but the man can really build up suspense and tension with the most basic tools, in his case just two people talking. Few filmmakers can boast the same.

i don’t need a TV to tell me what to like.

Do I detect a little jab towards myself?

          1. Did you never see Crying Freeman? In that movie he is a living manga character with a perfect face and body (almost).

Nope. I guess that’s obscure and besides I’m not a fan of anime or manga or whatever it’s called.

The only thing I remember Mark Dacasoc by is D-grade action flicks even though I’d struggle to name even one title he’s been in.

  6. Amazing graphic, outstanding gameplay, thrilling story…and badass Keanu Reeves face in the same game! What else?

      1. It’s an exaggeration.

But I still think it’ll be GOTY, because CDProjekt Red knows how to make phenomenal games.

        1. They’ve made exactly 3 games in total: 1) the greatest Witcher game (i.e. The Witcher 2007) so far that is the best in terms being true to the source material especially its atmosphere, 2) a consolized short sequel and 3) a highly hyped pseudo open-world game that was their ticket into mainstream of Western game-development.

Overall a good track record but not of the end-all, be-all, Jesus of game development level.

          1. If you think the world of Witcher 3 is a “pseudo open-world” you’re being delusional.

I also never said CDPR made “Jesus level games” . They make phenomenal games which still have room for improvement

          2. If you think the world of Witcher 3 is a “pseudo open-world” you’re being delusional.

3 big areas (in the main game) connected via loading screens with samey looking SpeedTree-generated forests and very few unique landmarks does not constitute an open-world to me.

          3. “…does not constitute an open-world to me”

Good thing you don’t get to define the term ” open world”

Even if you take one area from TW3 (novigrad/velen) you have a vast playable area. Open world != No loading screens.

      1. No it won’t be 10% off at Humble, dingaling.

And it’s not pointless because it shows the developer support, and you can always hit the refund button. Win win.

      2. It will probably be ~20% off at Green Man Gaming and CDKeys. I don’t mind paying a little more on Steam to show support for the developers.

  7. As if it wasn’t enough that Keanu is already making some serious waves with the John Wick franchise…. ^__^

    GG @Keanu
