At Tribeca 2019, Hideo Kojima talked a bit about his upcoming title, Death Stranding. What’s really interesting, at least for PC fans, is that Kojima did not deny a future PC release for his highly anticipated game.
When he was asked whether there were still plans for a PC release, Hideo Kojima dodged the question and he did not deny a future PC release. At the same time, Kojima did not also confirm a PC release so it’s not 100% certain whether we’ll see this game on the PC. We do know that Kojima wanted this game to come out on both PS4 and PC, however Sony may interfere and turn this into a “real” (and not timed) exclusive game on the Playstation devices.

Now as we all know, developers usually dodge such questions when they cannot talk about their future plans. After all, the same thing happened with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; a game that sold well on the PC platform. As such, I’m pretty sure that Kojima could very well debunk the PC rumours if his team did not plan on bringing it to our platform.
Our guess is that Death Stranding will come to the PC a year after its console release (do note that we are merely guessing here). The game is currently planned for release on PS4, however I’m almost certain that Kojima Productions will also port it to PS5. Whether the PC version is planned for release after the PS5 version remains a mystery.
Still, the good news here is that Kojima did not deny a future PC release so let’s hope that Death Stranding will, one day, come out on our platform!

Translation: “yes, it’s coming to PC but I can’t say it because of some exclusivity deal with Sony (either timed release, DLC or something else like that”
Watching Norman Reedus pecks in 144 fps. It’s a dream worth living for.

2+1= HL3 Confirmed!
Half-Life : More Than 2 and Less Than 4
LOL 🙂 , perfect.
At some point in the future it will likely land on PC.
…. I honestly thought we would hear more about Stranding on PC before we hear any of David Cages games porting over. that is still more of a bigger twist in gaming news. Cage always bends backwards for sony.
looks like Gabe just ate someone!
No Tim,just Steam 😀
considering it’s using Guerilla Games “Decima Game Engine” which is studio owned by SONY
i’d be surprised if that ever happens
I hope it comes to PC, there’s so much hype for this game, it would be a bummer if it’s only a PlayStation exclusive
“At PS experience Kojima had announced that he had partnered with Guerrilla Games, using the engine for development, and had been given the
source code with no contractual obligation.” Decima Engine Wikipedia Page.
Even if he’s using the engine, there’s officially nothing that can interfere with his decisions, i guess the only obstacle here is that he can’t release the game on Xbox or Switch, but a timed exclusive PS deal followed by a PC release is absolutely possible
Below is using Sony’s PhyreEngine and the game is not even on PlayStation. Its only on PC and Xbox One.
@ XH CH – “considering it’s using Guerilla Games “Decima Game Engine” which is studio owned by SONY

there are two possibilities that challenge this –
– If they have source code then it’s just a matter of deployment to pc.
Second – output the game assets to middleware. (UE4, CryEngine) which can replicate all aesthetics and also offer enhancements too (tessellation, Hairworks, Apex-Cloth, Ray-tracing)
Would be nice
I would rather play this game in 60 fps at ultra settings so it’s kinda disappointing, but knowing that PC fanboys don’t get to play it makes up for it in a way. I’ll still enjoy it on my PS4 and I’ll enjoy the salty tears even more.

Ironic.
There’s nothing “ironic” about your brain damage.
You need a dictionary.
So you didn’t played MGS3? What a shame. Emulators for the win. Also, consoles exist since early 70’s.
MGS3 is really amazing, just found out yesterday that MGS4 is on PS Now, so I guess yo can say the whole franchise is available on PC. Pretty Neat.
I would prefer to emulate MGS4 but hey beggars can’t be choosers.
That said is hard to be excited about Death Stranding since I have seen no gameplay or anything. Kojima does make amazing games, but I’ll consider begging for a port or borrowing a PS5 when they show more of the game!
But considering Sonys push for this I would not hold my breath about it coming to PC. It’s a really long shot!
you missed out on great Atari, C64, nes, master system, neogeo, snes, ps1, saturn games
I had an Atari ST, too! A 520STFM upgraded to 2.5MB RAM, 4096 colours and a later TOS. Happy days.
So many fun games on the ST and Amiga. Speedball 2, Sensible Soccer, Lemmings, IK+, Stunt Car Racer, Kick Off 2, Xenon 2, Starglider, etc.
So you are in your late 40’s early 50’s and start a sentence with “LOL” come on now
I had a C64 back then and only dreamed of getting an Atari ST or Amiga 500. Money was too tight to afford either.
Besides spending countless quarters on arcade games the first game that I played on a computer was on the Apple II in high school. My science teacher bought one when they first came out and he let us mess around on it. He thought that one day computers would be very important to us. Imagine that.
Anyway, it was a maze game with guards. The guards would give you mini-maps on how to reach the exit. Some would lie and some would tell the truth and you had to figure out which was which.
As long as its a finished product this time around. The Phantom Pain really did cause Pain in the way it ended with all the Konami drama.
Hopefully the PS4 (and the PS5) keep Hackjimas newest movie.
We’d be doing this same expectation, rumors and conspiracy theories for next 20 years, hoping Kojima to release it for PC someday. The absolute ruseman!
“Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man.”

First, Lets wait to see if the game justifies the hype.
I really really want to play this game on PC 4K 60fps!
Game looks very interesting so the least…
Kojima is a bad developer and you should feel bad for liking his
gamesmovies.Don’t care, keep your console movie games
this isn’t a console movie.
Salt.
What part of not caring is salt?
He rocks up here every now and then solely to indulge in a spot of trolling.
Right, cuz dismissing games as “console movie games” and implying brain damage aren’t trolling…
What part of “console movie games” ISN’T salt?
If the game have action in it and not a walking simulator, I am all for a PC release. Otherwise they could just keep it exclusive.
Plenty of gamers WILL double-dip.
Does the PC really need another walking simulator?
“the past 20 years (did consoles even exist back then?)”
Twenty years ago there was Sega Dreamcast but there’s been little else worthwhile since. I suppose that the brief fad that was motion controls with Nintendo Wii provided some good fun.
You’ve only missed a handful of truly special games by having skipped all Sony consoles as of PS2 onwards and all Microsoft consoles.
PS3/Xbox360 was a great generation, lots of great exclusive games on both of those.
Other than that… Nothing really worth mentioning
I disagree. That said, it was a much better console generation than the current mediocrity on offer.
The last truly great console generation for me was the battle between Mega Drive/Genesis and SNES. The PS1 vs Saturn era had its highpoints too if you were willing to buy some of the superb Japan-only shmups and fighting games on ‘grey import’ for Sega’s console.
I’m tempted to buy the recently launched Analogue Mega SG but haven’t done so yet largely due to how incredibly accurate BlastEm emulator is.
You’ve been around a little bit longer than me then 😛 I was too young back then
The only console that I’ve ever owned was the Atari 2600 back in 1980.
I can agree with you about the SNES. We bought one for my son shortly after it came out and the games that I played with him were a lot of fun.
Later we got him an N64 which had quite a few really fun games.
I do remember the PS2 being extremely popular. If you went into a Blockbuster back in the day there were 2 entire aisles filled with PS2 games to rent. All of the other console games for other systems fit on a single aisle.
Nice. I’m a keen retro gamer and of Atari’s consoles I currently own a 7800, Lynx, Jaguar with Jaguar CD and used to have an ST back in the day.
In 1980 the only gaming device I had was a battery powered Pong clone TV console, haha.
Yep, PS2 sales dominated that console generation. It sold far in excess of Xbox, GameCube and Dreamcast combined.
Sony money, unless they want to harm themselves i don’t really see this coming to PC. It’s not Konami we’re talking about here.

that was before sony gave him the money for his game. after that he only talked about playstation
Buyimg exlusivity pays off for Sony.
Having great relationships with developers pays off for Sony.
obviously.. time exclusive deals. SONY & Microsoft did it decade ago. now EPIC.
In the worst case scenario, I think Sony will secure Death Stranding as a main title in PS5 launch line-up…
You mean back before he’d settled on an engine built in-house by Sony developers?
Some of you try too hard.
If it’s coming to S*ony console only, expect a tons of mysterious white light covering female characters ti*ts and I don’t think Hideous Pervyjima will like that…so,a PC release could help him secure his “vision”…

Gonna by this for sure, and if it get released on PC, I’ll have my pirate copy there aswell.
This move by Sony might mean they are overly confident on their next gen console to beat highend PCs. I think it will serve as big mrkt campaing.
exclusive on console only for stup1d devs/pubs.
