A couple of days ago, we informed you about MediaMarkt listing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC and accepting pre-orders for that particular version. However, it appears that this listing was just a placeholder and nothing more.
WCCFTech got in touch with MediaMarkt who told them that the PC listing was just a placeholder, though they are counting on it being announced for the PC in the future.
“It’s true we had the RDR2 PC version listed. I checked this with the games department at our HQ and got told that it’s something of a placeholder and that they count on it being announced sometime in the future (just as with GTA V for example). It is no longer listed as available for pre-purchase, though.”
So yeah, it appears that MediaMarkt had no inside information about the PC listing. Either that or they have simply taken it down after the media discovering it.
Point is that we are back to square one again. As we’ve already said, at this point it’s a matter of “when” and not a matter of “if” Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to the PC. Will Rockstar invest on an early next-gen version of RDR2 like it did with Grand Theft Auto V? And if that’s the case, will it bring that version to the PC after its next-gen console release?

Rockstar ignoring the pc community is disrespectfull,especially nowadays
More than 1/3 of Rockstars game sales are on PC. Its coming to PC without a doubt. The real question is will it come in 2019 or 2020. My guess is same time next year.
People were saying the same for the first one and it never came. I swear even 3-4 years after it didnt come, people STILL had hope and thought it will. Lets see how many years this on will take.. ;p

I still have hope RDR 1 will still come to PC in the shape a remake with RDR 2 graphics and mechanics. The time for remaster might have passed but a remake with RDR 2 assets and tech will be huge on PC.
I don’t think a remake will make it way anytime soon, they never made a remake for one of their games, but a remastered one can be, the game itself is still eye candy, has great physics and animations, and a wonderful open world, just go check the XB1X enhanced version, it really looks like a PC port with high resolution and good texture filtering, it still runs on 30 fps tho, finger crossed for a remaster… with unlocked framerate
I know, by “version” i mean the enhancement done by MS for the game as Rockstar didn’t touch the game at all, at the end of the day it’s like enhancing an old game by tweaking some options in the driver panel like adding AF and AA, but still, playing on XB1X is still the best way to do since there is no PC port, and it shows the potential of what a PC Port will look if there was one…
Remake would be a very good idea, but to be honest RDR 1 especially on xbox x looks still good (very similar graphics to GTA5).
Rockstar did like 1 remake throughout their entire history. And that was not even a full blown remake, just remaster.

So PS4/One sales: (73.6+(1/2×73.6))/3= ~36.8 million
2/1 ratio split:

More than anything they will want to capitalize on Red Dead Online and having it on all platform will be a literal gold mine for them.

Rockstar said the same thing about GTA V, and then after the PC port was announced they said that a PC release was planned from the beginning.

Yeah most us kind of saw this coming, simply because this has happened so many times in the past on this website with games like Halo 5, Halo: TMCC, Sunset Overdrive, GTA V, RDR 1 Remastered, Final Fantasy XV etc.

I think this is just Rockstar repeating the trick they played with GTA V to get console and PC gamers to double dip. Don’t give a straight answer yes/no whether RDR2 will be coming to PC. Create some doubt that it will. Then people go ahead and buy it for their console because they don’t see a point in waiting on the PC version when it may never come or how long they will have to wait if it does come to PC.
Then Rockstar waits a while and announces it’s coming for PC and a lot of those people that already bought it once buy it again for the superior PC gaming experience. They are probably already working on the PC port but won’t say a word because double dippers means a lot more money for them.

The KBM controls for GTA V are very good and the port is great, far better than Ubi ports just for example, RDR was not ported to PC for obvious reasons, all the staff of R* San Diego were fired just after the game gone gold, the game itself was in a developement hell for years before release, some of the files of the game were packed in the last minutes and the RAGE Engine was a mess on performance, it’s all good for 30 fps and low res, and they know no one will accept these conditions on PC especially after the bashing of the GTA VI port, but they learned from that, and since Max Payne 3 the engine performs great on PC, there is no hate from R* for PC players, they partially support modding (some other studios just don’t) and they include various exclusive features to their PC ports, we can speak about the delayed ports, well, i have to admit that it’s a bit annoying but we have seen games ported to PC many years after the initial release (Bayonetta, Vanquish, Brutal Legend, FF Series…) and no one is talking about hate for these cases
C’mon man, i never had a problem with KBM on GTA for cover or for anything else, it plays well on both solutions, and please don’t put Ubi, Watch Dogs and good port on the same sentence this will be the weirdest thing i heard for years, the mouse acceleration on WD is a hell on earth and it has a lot of dead zones when aiming, even when you manually edit the game to get rid of the mouse accel, you can only remove it for the f*cking main menu, what a joke !! On GTA V there is a native support for Raw Input, there are a lot of shortcut keys like changing character, record gameplay and change weapon immediately and more, and that’s a sign of dedicated work on KBM controls done by R*, and no, AC is not the only Ubi game that has f*cked up KBM controls on PC (Driver SF, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell Conviction…)

Anyway, you’re right perhaps i’m not a Raw Input specialist, but i know for sure that the KMB controls of GTAV are far better than those seen in WD1, you cited WD2, perhaps it has better controls but definitively not a better port since it’s CPU intensive like hell and doesn’t have half the features GTA V have, no better physics, no better AI, no better optimization, no better open world details, no better mod support
No man WD2 doesn’t run better than GTA V, i’m close to Ultra on 1080p on both games, GTA is 100fps+ all the time with some dips here and there, WD2 is always around 50-60fps (without resolution scaling, only SMAA as AA and High shadows)
Now speaking about banning, WD2 don’t let you even mod the SP as it has Easy Anti Cheat, you can disable it but if you do so, you can’t go online anymore, so… Back to square 1 just like GTAV in that case
PS : Rockstar never talked sh*t about PC, never !! All that R* hate over PC is just speculation, Ubi on the other hand has talked infinite sh*t in those 2008-2009 years, and implemented an always online drm to their SP Games, just wake up man, see by yourself who is hating
