Shadow of the Tomb Raider has gone Gold

Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal have announced that Shadow of the Tomb Raider has officially gone gold. According to the press release, Lara’s defining moment is out of Eidos-Montréal’s hard-working hands & on its way to manufacturing.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will forge herself into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.

The game will last around 13-15 hours (without the side missions) and the hunting and the equipment will be more important this time around. The main tombs will be very important, will be “more classic,” and will be deadlier than before. Players will be able to swim and dive, and will be also able to use their rope to go up and down walls, run through them, and perform longer jumps.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will release on September 14th!

    1. Bro,if nixxes is gonne port this, you need to add more than 6 months simply because it will run like a crappy buggy truely-unifinished product.

    2. on top of that look at the season pass, thats insane amount of content, its like they developing a separate game. Me says they removed that from the main game.

    3. Yeah, “Gold” has lost its original meaning today.

It’s more like paid beta or something like that

      1. Indeed. Even the console peasantry are switching to digital distribution nowadays. When I see console game boxes on store shelves I think how quaint and archaic it is. Not dissimilar to seeing music CDs in a world that otherwise moved over to mp3 and streaming some time ago.

        1. It has nothing to do with physical or digital XD

When software reach “Gold” status it just means (or used to mean) that the software has ended its development cycle, it has no mayor bugs and it’s ready for distribution (digital or physical, it doesn’t matter. The “gold edition” branding is just marketing, like GotY edition)

But games today still continues its development after launch and have tons of mayor bugs when distributed…

          1. It often used to refer to when a game’s code was finished and was either compiled on a CD/DVD/BRD-ROM (sometimes gold-coloured) ‘master’ disc and/or sent off to the disc duplication factory for mass production.

    1. this is the last time apparently, the next tomb raider games wont feature this lara. It wil be a new series.

BUT REMEMBER THE FIRST GAME DIDNT SELL WELL…..meanwhile this has a long season pass and more tomb raider games are in the works.

  1. Loved the last two iterations, although not enough puzzles to my taste but graphics and story were interesting enough for me to buy 6-12months after release date because you know…

  2. with each iteration they keep pushing their SJW agenda making lara more as average lesbian jane than an iconic idol which was confident adventurer and explorer. i have stopped supporting the franchise since TR2013.

  3. Awesome, I have already pre ordered it and can’t wait to play it pimped out on my PC! Shadow of the Tomb Raider is > than The Last Of Us 2.
