I’m pretty sure that a lot of gamers were disappointed when Ubisoft’s E3 2018 conference ended, and that’s because the French company did not reveal any new Splinter Cell game. However, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot did say in a brief interview with Geoff Keighley that the company wants to return to this franchise.
As Guillemot said when asked about the absence of Splinter Cell from Ubisoft’s E3 2018 conference.
“So we love the brand first. We, er, we really, er, want to come back with it at some point but I can’t say much today.”
Now I have to be honest here, this sounds similar to what we heard in 2017. Back in E3 2017, Yves Guillemot stated that Ubisoft was going to pick one of the sketches and proposals it has been receiving.
“What we can say is we’re receiving a lot of sketches and proposals around the brand and we’re going to pick one up. I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.”
Some people believe that Sony may surprise everyone and will reveal a new Splinter Cell game during its E3 2018 press conference, however, this seems unlikely.

To be honest, they’re never going to live up to Chaos Theory tier Splinter Cell ever again so I’d rather them just not bastardizing the series even further.
If everybody had this attitude we’d never get anywhere in life.
yves guillemot’s attitude is the reason why ubisoft never gets anywhere and they keep remaking same games. cynical people are the only hope you have to save you from your own stupidity.
Seriously, this is one of the most creatively bankrupt people in the Video Game industry at this current time. The Cynical outlook towards Ubisoft is deserved at this point.
Do people really think they’d be more capable beyond making a new Splinter Cell game that plays like Wildlands? Because that’s exactly what I see them doing in a long run because Stealth games aren’t really as popular as they once were.
Cynicism ? smart (and this is coming from a cynic)
Ubisoft seem to be doing just fine. I don’t fully agree with the same games comment. They’ve got a variety of games. From fps to racing to TPS to strategy to 2D platformers to RPG’s to pirate games to racing games to dancing games etc. Need I go on?
Is Ubisoft perfect? Of course not. Everybody knows about their infamous downgrades. Some would say their open world formula is repetitive, I think that’s very subjective, as I for one enjoy the AC and Far Cry games. They’re fun worlds to explore. But I get it, It’s the new cool thing to hate Ubisoft, I know how kids love their trends.
You say they keep remaking the same games, well at least they aren’t releasing remasters and remakes every other day like so many other companies.
what i meant by remaking was that all of their games feel the same, the engine, movement, sounds. it’s like playing same game in different setting/scenario/perspective. reason behind that is ubisoft and most modern tripleA publishers are bound by shareholders, they’re here to make money first and games later at best case. treating industry as business gets you nowhere significant. majority of modern corporations are operating based on ridiculously outdated books and strategies. getting the best out of your money seems to be the only thing ubisoft understands.
In my opinion square enix had the worst conference i i expected to see their avengers game or final fantasy 7 remake
The biggest disappointment of E3 was no mention of an SC game. Most of the other stuff I wasn’t really bothered about.
