Amazon India has just revealed the first screenshots for the rumoured Spyro the Dragon Trilogy, called Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Spyro Reignited Trilogy will feature all 3 original Spyro games fully remastered in HD, meaning that players can expect over 100 levels, remastered with breathtaking graphical updates and improved gameplay controls.
Now the reason we are sharing these screenshots is because this remaster may very well find its way to the PC. After all, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy – a remaster of an old game that will be published by Activision – will release on the PC on July 10th.
According to reports, this remaster will be officially revealed later today. However, and similarly to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy may be timed exclusive to PS4 for a year.
But anyway, enjoy the screenshots!
UPDATE:
The game is officially coming to Xbox One and PS4 this September. No word yet on a PC version. Activision has also released some new screenshots as well as the first official comparison screenshots between the original and the remastered versions of these upcoming Spyro the Dragon games.

Some games never get old 🙂
Finally a remake that feels like how the original game was supposed to look, instead of shtting on artistic vision. And now don’t have to suffer through the clunky control scheme of the PS1 controller.
As long as the soundtrack remains the same. It will be perfect
If the game actually looks like this, it’s gonna be a day 1 purchase for me. Spyro was probably one of my favorite games when I was a kid.
Its probably going to look better. Crash ended up looking extra colourful and lush like the originals 3 months after it was first shown. And that game was also shown for the first time with only around 6 months before launch too.
Crash will look much better on pc at max settings 1440p than xbox x!
It looks incredible, lets just hope to god it comes out on the PC like Crash.
PC and Switch versions will be later, probably.
It makes no sense to me how (semi) professional gaming sites like this can still be calling these “remasters” when they’re obviously talking about a REMAKE. Remasters and remakes (or being “remade from the ground up) are obviously not at all the same thing.
Remasters simply tweak the already existing game (ie resolution increase, fps increase, better textures, shadows, lighting, etc). REMAKES are just that – remade from the ground up (ie. Shadow of the Colossus, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, RE2 remake, FF7 remake). How many times does this has to be explained before it becomes standard industry terminology…
YES!!! THIS!!! ^^^
Remasters = Metro Redux, Last of Us Remastered, Wipeout Omega Collection, Bioshock Collection, Batman Return to Arkham, Zelda Wind Waker HD, Zelda Twilight Princess HD, etc.
Remakes = Resident Evil 1 (Gamecube), Super Mario All-Stars, Bionic Commando Re-Armed, Shadow of the Colossus, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, FF7 remake, RE2 remake, Spyro Reignigted Trilogy.
Jesus there should be an entire article on this topic alone lol
Well, I wouldn’t put REmake and Crash Bandicoot in the same league, one improves the graphics and adds gameplay features and tons of new locations, it´s actually remaking the game, telling the same story with the same style of gameplay but with newer standards. On the other hand, Crash Bandicoot and SotC just improve the graphics.
Blame the companies. From the official press release:
“The Iconic Purple Dragon is Fully Remastered, All Scaled Up and Just in Time to Celebrate His 20th Anniversary.”
“Spyro™ Reignited Trilogy introduces players to a fully remastered game collection of the three original Spyro™ games”
Excellent point indeed. I didn’t realize that.
tfw no exclusivity but they still didn’t announce a PC version
Yeah but apparently it’s not coming to PC(not yet).
We all knew it was coming but damn, I never thought he would be so freaking adorable looking.
Knowing how Crash turned out, it’ll come to PC.
Knowing Acti, it’ll come later and cost full price, so I’ll wait for a deep discount when it arrives.
GMG my dude.
Both are different games, and GMG has given me better deals than Steam over the past few years.
