New combat gameplay alpha video released for Rune: Ragnarok

Human Head Studios has released a new gameplay video for Rune: Ragnarok that, like its previous videos, focuses on the game’s combat system. This video was captured from its alpha build and as we can see, it still looks really rough.

The combat system in Rune: Ragnarok feels a bit basic at the moment. I’m pretty sure that Human Head Studios tried to stay close to the combat system of the original game, so it will be interesting to see whether it will further enhance/polish it or not.

Rune: Ragnarok is the sequel to the 17-year old Rune game and is set in a dangerous universe where gods, beasts, and the last remaining humans struggle to survive. The game promises to combine brutal melee combat with rich, Norse-inspired mythology.

Enjoy!

  1. I would say there is hope for this game but judging by the lack of any parry or dodge system and the constant flashes there is a clear lack of understanding on the devs part on how to make a solid combat system.
And that laughing at the end…..wow

  2. This game is so historically inaccurate that it’s laughable. Ice Giants didn’t look like that. The devs clearly are not racially sensitive enough to handle this material.
