    1. This is what I expected. A port of the iOS/Droid version. which is even more insulting that it took literally 8 years for them to port it.

      1. Same. I was so damn giddy when I booted up Steam and saw that game pop up. Never hit buy and download, followed by uninstall and refund so damn fast.

      2. Same. I was practically ecstatic over seeing it popping up when I logged in. Bought it so damn fast and then found out it was a pile of utter garbage. Refunded it minutes later.

    2. Ya, I’m hoping modders get it into shape like with FFV & FFVI. I’d grab it at half off if it worked okay. Only Squeenix could f*ck up such an easy money maker.

    3. Damn I sat up in my chair getting ready to buy it until I read your post. Thanks for saving me the trouble. Square loses major points with me right now..

  1. Square Enix atack again, another lazy port and people still wonder why i refuse to pay a cent for anything that come from Square Enix avaible on PC.

  2. OMG THE RUMORS WERE TRUE I HAD FAITH

I know what I’m doing tonight. And tomorrow night, And every night for a few weeks.

WHY IS THE RATING 5 OUT OF 10? YOU HEATHENS!!!!!

Oh. As expected. They wait 10 years to port the game directly from iOS/Droid, and they don’t even do a good job of it. GTFO Square Enix you are still dead to me.

Y’all are blowing it out of proportion though. While the filtering sucks and there are areas that look blatantly worse than SNES, like the background of 10000 BC world map (clouds), the only real negative here is the fact that this uses the god awful touch control UI of the iOS/Droid version. And lacks achievements.

  3. Yea. I knew this was going to happen. I had a fools hope they would use some common sense but of course my benefit of the doubt was rewarded with disappointment. I’m going to buy both anyway, because I want them to keep adding their games, but not buying it isn’t going to send the message that we’re not buying it because of them beign lazy and horrible. They’re not going to read the reviews. They’re just going to go “Guess no one wants our old games better make new generic crap.”

  4. Mostly negative reviews so far. Looks like they lazily chucked the mobile version onto Stream like with FFV & FFVI. At least it’s not a $40 remake that looks like a bad PS2 game I guess?

  5. Apparently is the same version as the psp. But yeah, if they’re gonna port the mobile version with touch screen ui and everything I rather play on a emulator.

  6. I finished the game for the second time not long ago, PSP version on original PSP (my first walk was on original PS1) : slowdowns on magics (perfect patch fix is available though) and most of all : NO REVERB on GORGEOUS Hitoshi Sakimoto soundtrack…but nice minimal controls tweaks and 16/9 stretchless graphics…btw, did I read somewhere recent mobile port had some cool option, like fast forwarding boring leveling battles, someone confirm ?

  7. I haven’t tested, does this have always online drm like ff7 and ff8 steam? It has a square enix online symbol in the top right of the main menu so I bet.

Also, it’s literally impossible to quit the game. There is no exit function. You have to flat out alt f4 or alt tab and close it through taskbar.
