Destiny 2 feature 2

Bungie announces free trial for Destiny 2, starts tomorrow

Bungie has just announced a free trial for Destiny 2. This free trial will give players limited access to the game, and will be available tomorrow. Bungie did not reveal any specific details, though we suspect that this free trial will offer everything that was available in the public beta phase.

If our hypothesis is correct, gamers will play the opening of Destiny 2’s new, cinematic story campaign. Gamers will also be able to battle in two competitive multiplayer modes. Furthermore, this free trial will support both solo and co-op.

Destiny 2 is among the most optimized PC games of 2017, so be sure to read our PC Performance Analysis. It’s also worth noting that Bungie did not remove its aim assist.

A few days ago, Bungie had also removed the game’s XP scaling system as the team was ‘not happy with the results.’ As a result of that, players will now see XP earn rates change for all activities across the board and the user interface will display all values. However, players have reported that the amount of XP needed to level up in Destiny 2 has now been doubled.

But anyway, tomorrow those who’ve always wanted to test the game – but didn’t want to support Bungie/Activision – will have the chance to test the game!

  1. Didn’t they already do this and called it “beta”? Was there really any significant difference between the beta and the full release (besides the limitations)?

    1. According to Forbes Destiny 2 sold well. From their site:

“The game, which launched on September 6th, became the best-selling game of 2017 after just one month of sales. In the last 12 months, only Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 have outsold Bungie’s space-opera shooter.”

Activision are greedy though. They want more from it.

      1. Forbes……

But regardless, how do they know that for sure? Do we have exact sales figures that actually proves that, or are they going by profit margins and estimating $60 per-sale?

        1. It was based on some info from the NPB Group. I haven’t heard of them before but they seem legit from what I looked at. Several other sites picked up the story too. They don’t give a revenue estimate though and Activision won’t comment on it so take it with a grain of salt I guess.

    1. It doesn’t really matter as long as you can play it. This brand loyalty stuff goes a bit far sometimes to the point that competition is smothered, which isn’t good for anyone.
Although I do like steam, so I can’t disagree too much…

      1. It does matter. Would PUBG be as big if it was exclusive to Origin, UPlay, GOG, Battle dot net etc. How much more popular would some of the EA games be if they were also available on Steam and as a result they might not need to shove micro-transactions and loot boxes down our throats this much to compensate for lost sales from not being on Steam.

    2. Doesn’t matter where it is, and honestly Steam is the last place I want to buy any game, I detest all store clients, and Steam no curation cess pits is the worst one.

The only store I want to buy any game from is GOG, and though DRM free is great, it’s not the reason I want games from GOG.

GOG provide offline installers for all their games, and that’s why I want a GOG release.

As for Destiny 2, they couldn’t pay me to play it. I won’t play any Loot Box infested trash, ever.

  2. This game will die a horrible death, it was designed to have give players zero incentive to keep playing, all because the game world is bland, boring and ultimately unrewarding. A returned focus on mindless grinding wouldn’t help it at this point, they would need to completely redesign the core gameplay mechanics, add actual challenge instead of gear checks which artificially gate the content. No world/clan chat makes this a joke on PC too. Let’s see did I miss anything?

Want tokens and cross your fingers that you get something you can use? No, anybody? Thought so…

  3. Ok I played demo for 2 evenings
