Project CARS 2 demo releases later today

Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco announced that the official Project CARS 2 demo will release later today. This demo was designed and created to allow players to get a taste of the racing action on offer in the full game.

As such, players will jump into a Ferrari 488 GT3, Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4, and Formula Renault 3.5. Players will also race at the laser-scanned Red Bull Ring.

The three different types of cars offer both a glimpse at the diverse motorsport disciplines available in the full game. Moreover, they showcase the sublime physics and handling of the in-game vehicles. The two track variations, set in a stunning landscape, highlight the visual and handling impact of the peerless weather simulation that racers will discover in Project CARS 2.

The three scenarios in the demo will test players with escalating challenges. Players will experience class-leading physics in various cars and conditions giving them a taste of what the full game will offer.

Project CARS 2 is one of the few games that takes advantage of more than four CPU cores/threads. As we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis, the game looks absolutely stunning. It scales wonderfully on six CPU threads, features lots of graphics settings to adjust, and is scalable on older hardware.

This demo will be available later today on Steam, so be sure to bookmark its Steam store page!

    1. Go get Forza Horizon 3 asap, it is my favorite Arcade racer to date and the PC version is amazing. I play it on Ultra in a three screen setup(5760×1080) and it is crazy!

I am a huge Arcade racer guy and I would also recommend Forza 7, it is actually really good as well(worth getting, its laps though not open world).

Forza Horizon 3 is amazing and in my opinion the best Arcade racer on the market, I would bet a house on it if I had one that you will love it 🙂

      1. Forza horizon 3 best arcade racer? I have play it, but for some reason I still prefer old classics like NFS 2-6 (6 but just PS2 version, PC version was different game), or even burnout 2-4. Forza horizon 3 and 2 are nothing special to me, but of course when there’s no competition (new NFS games are really bad) people may think, that even forza horizon 3 is very good arcade game in comparison.

  2. I wish there was an open-world driving game for VR that wasn’t a truck driving sim. I’d even buy a racing wheel for it.

      1. Me too. Since having played other racing sims in VR it now feels so lacking and lifeless to me when playing them displayed on a monitor. I see that Forza Motorsport 7 is currently discounted at the Win 10 Store’s Black Friday promotion but that game lacks VR support which is deal-breaker for me. Well, that and the fact it’s a Win 10 Store UWP exclusive but I digress!

  3. Hmm cool, I have wanted to try it out for a while but I am a Arcade racer guy so not sure if I will like it.

I have to say I really like Forza 7, anyone that has Project CARS 2 does it have a aided/arcade like mode just like Forza 7 that you can pick?

  4. First project cars was big disappointment to me, both gameplay (that game was unplayable on gamepad) and graphics wise. Project Cars 2 looks more promising and people say that they even fixed gamepad controls (although this time around I already have G29 racing wheel anyway). Now at least we can try demo first, and thanks to this oportunity maybe I will change my opinion about this game and even like it (otherwise I would not buy this game for sure)
