Creative Assembly revealed today the PC system requirements for its upcoming strategy title, Total War: Rome II. According to the specs, Total War: Rome II will be scalable and will run on Windows XP machines and will require at least 35GB of free hard disc space. In addition, DX9.0c GPUs will be supported. Volition and Deep Silver released a E3 2013 walkthrough video for Saints Row IV. In this video, Senior Producer Jim Boone from Volition shows us how the leader of the Saints AKA the self-proclaimed “Patron Saint of America” encounters the alien overlord Zinyak for the first time and how he deals with an alien invasion in the White House – Saints Row style. In the second part of the video Jim presents more open world mayhem, including new weapons like the Blackhole Launcher, a move called “Death From Above” and an all-new experience by Professor Genki himself called Mind Over Murder. According to the official Russian-language fan site Assassins-Creed.ru, Ubisoft Kiev will be handling the PC version of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title. Ubisoft Kiev was also responsible for the PC versions of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Assassin’s Creed III. Focus Home Interactive released some new screenshots for Contrast. During E3 2013, the game was showcased and players were able to take on the role of Dawn, an imaginary friend, in the oneiric universe fueled by Didi’s imagination. Didi, an adventurous nine year old is hopeful of reuniting her parents as she uncovers truths and drama in this charming adventure. Contrast is a breakthrough 2D/3D puzzle platformer, in which the player can shift between the striking 3D fantasy world into the mysterious 2D shadowscape. Well, we all saw that coming. In an attempt to promote its latest OS, Microsoft has officially revealed the new version of its DX API. And as you may have guessed, it is coming exclusively on Windows 8.1 and Xbox One. DirectX 11.2 was presented at its Build Conference, and you can find the keynotes video below. Perhaps the best feature of DX11.2, Tiled Resources, is demoed at around the first one hour mark. With Tiled Resources, Direct3D 11.2 introduces support for hardware virtual resources, allowing the creation of massive textures using minimal memory, and permitting improved bandwidth efficiency. Let’s see now how PC gamers and developers will respond to Microsoft’s move, and whether the former will be forced to upgrade their systems – yet again – for this DX exclusivity!
