Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Online – Update 0.9.0 Released

Today, Ubisoft announced the release of the new 0.9.0 patch for Ghost Recon Online, that will bring with it various new features and Halloween themed content for players to experience and enjoy. Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, Ghost Recon Online is a free-to-play, third-person online multiplayer shooter, that brings a new dimension to tactical team play. Or at least that’s what its press release claims.
This update includes Beginner’s Playlist, a Halloween event and support for clans.
With the Beginner’s Playlist, players new to Ghost Recon Online will be able to learn the game’s basics and build up their skills first, before being pitted against more experienced players. Players who have all 3 characters between levels 1 to 4, can utilize the Beginner’s Playlist, in order to play against similar players. The beginner’s Playlist is a separate matchmaking queue regrouping newcomers on the same matches. New players will still have the option of playing against more experienced players by choosing the All Players Playlist instead.
The end of October is known for spooky Halloween celebrations, and Ghost Recon Online will be adding to the festivities with its Halloween Content Pack. Featuring new and exclusive Halloween skins as well as different weapon stats, these 6 Halloween weapons, will only be available for a limited period. Gear up, and be prepared for Halloween.
Starting with the 0.9.0 patch, the various elements of Clans will be introduced in phases in Ghost Recon Online. With the 0.9.0 patch, the active players will first be able to start forming social bonds with their friends and other players through the creation, formation and management of their own Clans. Players will also be able to enhance their Clan identity through the use of Clan Tags and customizable Clan crests, which can be used as their personal avatars as well. The next phase of Clans will happen on 16 January 2013, with the introduction of the competitive elements of Clans. This is when players will be able to challenge other Clans in either ranked or unranked Clan matches.
In Ghost Recon Online, the player can choose between three classes: Assault, Specialist, or Recon, to suit their particular style of play. As they evolve through the game, each Class character will be able to deploy unique Class Devices and other hi-tech equipment to enhance not only their individual combat effectiveness, but also that of other team. Tactical team play will be crucial for victory in the fierce 16 player online matches.
Ghost Recon Online is said to deliver a premium PC online shooter experience that is downloadable and playable for free. However, players can decide to further enhance their experience by purchasing game items with either Requisition Points which can be earned by playing the game, or with Ghost Coins, that can be purchased with real currency.
