The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – E3 2014 Microsoft Stage Demo

CD Projekt RED has presented a new gameplay demo during Microsoft’s E3 2014 conference. This demo is the first ‘proper’ gameplay footage we’ve got since the game’s reveal, showing Geralt wandering and fighting a Griffin. Enjoy!

    1. But, but… unified memory!

*It could just be the upload was flawed – They’ll probably release a better version in time.

      1. Probably on a beast PC but yeah, unified memory is better just not viable for high end gaming unless you get a memory type which is cheap, low latency and has huge amounts of bandwidth. GDDR and DDR don’t do both.

    2. Trying to judge visual quality based on laggy, poorly compressed youtube upload of stream footage.

Once again making mustards everywhere look dumb.

      1. I’m not judging visual quality, I’m saying “it” looks like a stutter fest, could be the game, could be the video recording.

      2. That’s not Youtube’s fault at all X1 can’t handle it . This was streamed on Twitch and dear lord it was jittery

      1. it’s from E3 2013 and it’s real, however the witcher 3 they showed on stage looks a lot worst than the witcher 3 trailer from yesterday

        1. Of course it’s real, he didn’t say it wasn’t.

This seems to be a communication problem. Yes, microsoft have used dev builds running on PCs to trick people into thinking the games would look like that on xbone but that’s microsoft who did that previously, not CDPR.

The live gameplay footage they showed off obviously was really running on xbone, or if it was a dev build running on a PC, it was appropriately downgraded to simulate a realistic console experience.

You can expect the game to look like that xbone, which is a little wonder really considering how weak those things are. But of course it will look much better maxed on a PC. Don’t get scared people, this isn’t Ubisoft, it’s CDPR. It’s all gonna be okay.

          1. i’m ok with CDPR even if i can’t run their game. i buy their games because i respect them and they have a nice support, even if it’s badly optimized they will fix it

          2. Suit yourself but I’m completely sure you’re stressing out over nothing. Just because ubisoft keeps being ubisoft is no reason to start doubting CDPR.

I don’t really understand how people were shocked by the Watch Dog’s downgrade. That is standard practice for ubisoft. They’ve always done this. It’s nothing new.

          3. It was more outrage than shock. Outrage is often good – it can force a developer to change their ways. Sometimes.

  1. doesn’t look really good, did they downgraded it or it will be look like that on consoles ? that dust (when monster attack geralt) is so 2005. i guess tomorow we will see the real gameplay on CDPR show. however still looks cool. however the quality is not the best so i can’t tell if it is really good or not

        1. I know man , but after watching this gameplay , I’m worried a little bit . It doesn’t even look as good as Witcher 2 to be honest .

          1. it was fun but to be honest it didn’t feel like it’s trailers, however the stream quality was s**t and it was on console

          2. Mau d kus consoles di . Why they didn’t show the game on PC , if they call themselves “PC developers” .? Very disappointing .

          3. Because it was the xbox conference from microsoft, showing off xbox games, not PC games.

          4. tomorow they have a seperated show about 30min and they will show the gameplay, i hope they show it on PC in their show. or maybe they screwed pc version and there is no hardware in the market that can run it for now ? 😀

          5. Of course the console version won’t look anything near as good as Witcher 2 on PC. W2 was future proofed like Crysis. Hard to run but it still holds up to this day. The “next” generation of consoles still hasn’t caught up with top tier PC’s from a few years ago, what do you expect?

Did you see what Witcher 2 looked like on the 360?

          6. Ya , I did see that . Witcher 2 on Xbox looks like trash . Hopefully , you’re right man .

  2. People have gotten so used to being lied to, they can’t handle when they get something honest for a change.

It was a presentation for the xbox one version. Why should they be showing off a maxed out PC version? That would be false advertising. That would be bad. That’s not what we should want or expect a developer to do.

It’s so sad that this has become the norm so much that people get confused when somebody isn’t lying through their teeth.

  3. Very bad stream quality, also consoles will run this game only @LOW settings, so it’s not fair to judge witcher 3 graphics quality right now.
