    1. We are getting a free upgrade to that version .

The rebuilt PC version, which incorporates Unreal Engine 4 and the
changes made for PS4, is still “a few weeks away”, The Astronauts’
Adrian Chmielarz told me this afternoon. Remember that this is free to
owners of the existing game on PC.

        1. I noticed that as well, the water in it self looked pretty great, but the reflections was barely there at 1:20 in the video. It seemed to be just a shade of the reflection that was in Unreal 3.

        2. I also think the reflection on the PC version here was too sharp. Maybe somewhere between the two would be best. The updates PS4 water looked shit though.

  1. Honestly, I don’t see much difference and when I do spot the difference, the PC-version looks better, except the water-effects.

    1. In some places i prefer the PC version when it comes to the water, but in some others i rather go with the PS4 lol.

Overall they do look pretty similar

    2. Lighting on PS4 is significantly better and more accurate. UE4 engine makes it really better comparing to older UE3.

    1. It is not pointless, it is to show that if the PS4 can’t even stand against a DX9 game with an outdated graphical engine, it can’t really compete.

    2. It’s a useful comparison in highlighting what the change in engine allows. After all, there’s no PC UE4 version around to make a comparison with, so this will have to do.

      1. PC players are getting the free UE4 upgrade next week and that will be the proper comparison between UE3 and UE4.

      1. Little better, with some added effects. But then again the PC’s UE3 water looks much better. And let’s wait for the UE4 PC version..

    1. unless developers remove features from PC version on purpose and even then modders have a chance to make things better still.

    2. True – as the framerate shows. But you can’t deny the lighting is much nicer in UE4. Dem reflections tho… wtf

  2. Better AO and lighting on the new engine. Apart from that, not much else. Maybe a bit of colour correction. It’s a comparison of the engine rather than the machines though tbh.

  3. the water looks better on pc in that wide shot of the lake. on the ps4 we can see the overall low framerate and that applies to the shader for the water, you can see it has a low framerate, the ripples have a choppiness to them.

      1. Yes idiot, like all shaders they are rendered and have fps. See furmark for example idiot. The ps4 has low fps in every scene we see here. That also applies to those ripple shaders and we can see the low fps there. Anything else, idiot ?

  4. I think i speak for all when i say i hope this fixes the stuttering like i have a 4790K and 970 and with no AA at 1440P or even 720P it just stutter.
