In November 2020, we shared an alpha gameplay teaser trailer for a fan remake of Star Wars Dark Forces in Unreal Engine 4. And today, Shadow Art Games released a full playthrough video from its project.
Now as you may have guessed, this fan remake is not a full-fledged game. Instead, the team has recreated the first mission from that classic Star Wars FPS game.
What’s also cool about this fan remake is that it features proper gameplay mechanics. For instance, there are some weapons that players can get so that they can kill a number of enemies. Additionally, the remake packs a simple – yet functional – AI for enemies.
Unfortunately, Shadow Art Games has not released this remake to the public. We also don’t know whether there are any plans at all for a public release.
But anyway, as a bonus, I’ve also included below a video, showcasing The Mandalorian in Unreal Engine 4. This video gives us a glimpse at what gamers can expect from a high-quality Star Wars game in Unreal Engine 4.
Enjoy!

Aaaaand another single-level remake in Unreal 4 which we’ll likely never play.
I guess some people do this only for their portfolio.
Too bad, I would totally play this!

This looks like every single Star Wars conversion mod. Won’t ever come out either, I’m sure. These projects either get shut down immediately or they’re allowed to go on for years and have communities built up around them before they get shut down (Stage 9 anyone?)…always happens. I don’t get why people announce their projects before releasing them knowing what will happen. It’s like they either don’t care or they’re that egotistical that they can’t keep quiet about it. Well congrats, you now screwed yourself.
Also, that “fan film” has jerky a*s animations and the voice acting is horrible. Sounds like a 15 year old trying to be manly lol. Not impressed by it at all.
Looks like someone painted a cardboard.
