It has been a while since we last covered KyTyPS5, the best emulator for PlayStation 5. Since then, the emulator has seen many updates. Now, a new video shows three PS5 games running on its latest version. These games are SAROS, Demon’s Souls Remake, and Marvel’s Wolverine.
Let’s start with SAROS. It is an action game from the team behind Returnal. Returnal came to PC, but SAROS will most likely stay a PS5 exclusive. Right now, KyTyPS5 can run SAROS and get into the game. The frame rate is not great yet. Still, this is a big step for the emulator. Getting the game to run at all is quite impressive.
Then, we have Marvel’s Wolverine. During some cut-scenes, the game can run at 40FPS on a high-end PC system. During gameplay, there are still major slowdowns. The game is nowhere close to being playable. From what I’ve seen, it currently runs at 10-15FPS. There are also major stuttering issues, and the game appears to be unstable. So, I don’t believe KyTyPS5 will be able to run it at 30FPS in 2026.
Lastly, we have Demon’s Souls Remake. Demon’s Souls Remake can now run at 40-50FPS on a high-end PC system. In some particular areas, the emulator can run the game at 60FPS. This is most likely the game that will soon be fully playable at 60FPS. My guess is that by Christmas we will be able to run it at 60FPS.
Before closing, I should note that the second-best PS5 emulator, SharpEmu, can now launch Ghost of Yotei and get into the game. Performance is still really low, though. We’re talking about 1-2FPS. Still, the fact that SharpEmu can launch Ghost of Yotei is already impressive.
As a bonus, I’ve included a video that shows Astro Bot running on the latest version of KyTyPS5. Right now, Astro Bot can run at 40-50FPS on a high-end PC system. So, we’re really close to hitting 60FPS. Alongside Demon’s Souls Remake, this will most likely be one of the first PS5 games that will be fully playable on KyTyPS5.
All in all, things look great for both KyTyPS5 and SharpEmu. If they keep making progress at this rate, we may be able to play these games on PC in just a few months. However, I do not expect them to run GTA 6 when it comes out. Many people hope these emulators will let PC gamers play GTA 6 soon. But I do not think this will happen in 2026.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
